Default Is it actually difficult to create items?

Pretty disappointed with the lack of items in this update. As a programmer I don't feel like it should be particularly difficult to add new items to the game. Generally you have a system tool to create items, add a picture, some stats, etc. So I'm a bit confused why we're seeing an extremely limited numbers of items in the last few updates. It's really making me a bit unhappy with the game, and making me reconsider how much time I spend on DDO.

Update 21: 16 items, one crafting system for weapons, and armor
    Update 22: 19 items
    Update 23: 33 items

Items in heroic necro part 4: 53
But thats without the turn ins, another 21, for 74 items...

I'm also pretty disappointed that crystal cove wasn't updated to level 28. Why did we pay for new levels if you can't support them?

Is it really that hard to add a few items to the game?

In an armor/shield update, they epic'd necro which has a turn in for shields:
Why not update the shields to epic levels? That's 6 large shields and 1 tower shield.

You don't need to make them much better, just make them epic (epic level armor and abilities) and add slots. We don't need items to compete with thunderforged, just add some extra [w] dice, 1-2 effects, and augment slots. Do that along with the well thought out quest/raid items like you did in this update.

I would be fine with a deathnip that did 3[1d6] damage, heart seeker 6, an orange slot and force burst. You don't need to re-invent the items, just upgrade a little bit.

If your also disappointed in the missing items and want them to add most necro 4 items with a bit of epicification then sign.

Just a guess, but the issue is probably nothing to do with programming, and more one of balancing.

    Sign me up for

3(1d6) heartseeker VI & force burst w/ orange slot Deathnips

Now an epic version of my favorite weapon might make me think about melee again.

Right now I am indifferent with weapons being added to the necro 4 pack. Mainly because Thunderforge is the end game weapons for now. A loot revamp for necro 4 to epicfy weapons into the level 30 range would not be a bad idea. When level 30 is available.

They don't mind adding the weapons, just felt it wasn't needed for the time being. Apparently those deathnips aren't as popular overall.

It's a lot harder for developers to create items than it is for a lone individual mucking around with an editor because they have different standards to maintain, and that likely includes a lengthier process involving back-and-forth between different people as well as adhering to whatever codes or principles they have in place which may include research or analysis of existing builds or item options to see what impact a new item would have and to make sure it fits with whatever theme, feel, loot table, or whatever they have going on.

That said, I would appreciate more heavy shield options. I'm finding it hard to get anything in epic that would actually be an upgrade over my Talon for my character type right now, and from that point of view it's very unfortunate that there's not only no epic talon in the works, but no notable heavy shields at all. It's good that they're providing for the evasion sorts with more light shields to accommodate the change, but it seems a little thin on the ground for people who do actually intend to "armour up" but don't fit in with the tower shield path.
