The Ring of the Buccaneer could use an additional, less situational bonus. In keeping with the flavor of "... better able to survive the perils of the ocean", I think this could gain cold absorption 25%.

Also reason everyone complaining is no one is actually getting on lamnia and doing stupid **** or you would see the upgrades all have 2 augement slots and get much better when get up to tier 3 but everyone is posting what says without actually getting items. The descriptions are wrong devs already said that.
It makes sense to make them upgrades and not turn into augments for 2 big reasons.
    1. They are meant to be filler in slot items. You use them to free up other slots. You lose a little power for the diversity they provide.
    2. Epic GS becoming augments. So why would you slot garbage like these when you have the GS powers to slot?

at this point i'd farm the spyglasses with my PM as a replacement for my planar focus with +3insight INT and call it done, only because i've been and i am unlucky with the blue dragon helm and the field optics

I'll probably farm up a couple of lvl24 Spyglasses and at least one set of leathers (Although I still really don't get the mobility buff. Do you really think that my evasion/dodge character doesn't have mobility by the time he gets to 20th?)

Sorry, I'm sure that some of you devs spent a fair bit of time working on all this, but I was pretty underwhelmed.

When the Cove first premiered it had a lot of nice twink loot that might not have been best in show, but was solid equipment regardless. As time and updates have gone on, most of the items have lost their edge. Several, perhaps most, need a complete reworking.* Keeping continuity on an item's progression when the item is sub-par to start with only keeps it sub-par.

*mid-level weapons do not gain the paragon bonus, Cavalry Plate is medium armor since mithral was debased, I never thought that the Brawler's Gloves or the Ratkiller were all that to begin with and the Ornamented Dagger, of which I long ago farmed up 2 complete sets, has been degraded by changes/updates/additions to caster equipment such that you can find loot-gen items of more usefulness.

Sorry, I really wanted to be excited about this.

The L20 version of this item is the worst conversion, with its potency substantially worse than same-level loot-gen, and its spell lore vastly inferior to the indivudal lores on the L16 item.

I think these items should be stripped of potency and universal spell lore as these effects are rather terrible, and redesigned as strict upgrades from their lower level versions. For instance, low level daggers grant bonuses to multiple individual spell powers. The L16 dagger (the best version of this item, for sure) grants Fire Lore V, Ice Lore V, and Lightning Lore V.

The L20 (tier 3) version should have the same Fire Lore V, Ice Lore V, and Lightning Lore V. It should also have Combustion 84, Glaciation 84, and Magnetism 84. Each effect is slightly worse than on-level loot-gen, but is still strong enough to be desirable unlike the current set of potency and universal spell lore effects.

The L24 (tier 3) version should have Fire Lore VI, Ice Lore VI, and Lightning Lore VI. It should also have Combustion 108, Glaciation 108, and Magnetism 108.
It's occurred to me that adding Radiance 84/108 and Radiance Lore V/VI would also be a good idea. This event currently offers very little to divines, and adding boosts to radiance damage on the dagger is something that can be done to help divines consolidate fire and radiance onto one item without granting any additional power to arcanes who aren't going to care about radiant.

Can we get goggles and necklaces to craft from Crystal Cove and Cannith Challenges?

Here's my suggestion for level 24 ornamental dagger. I call it return to your roots. The values are based on glass canon.

    Tier 1
Dagger +5, spellcrafting implement +15, concentration +15, efficient metamagic - maximize II, lesser maximize, potency 72, spell lore whatever, yellow slot
    Tier 2
Dagger +6, spellcrafting implement +18, concentration +17, efficient metamagic - maximize II, lesser maximize, potency 76, spell lore whatever+1, yellow slot
    Tier 3
Dagger +7, spellcrafting implement +21, concentration +20, efficient metamagic - maximize II, lesser maximize, combustion +120, fire lore 17%, magnetism +120, lightning lore 17%, corrosion 120, acid lore 17%, glaciation +120, ice lore 17%, ORANGE f'n slot.
Your version makes more sense and follows the patter they started with the dagger in earlier levels.

However, I wouldn't slot either one - maybe a twink item during an ETR.

But, to be honest, if these are the cove items available, I won't be spending time on the event. Pretty lackluster - augments would have been more interesting, and worthwhile to me.

I guess I would like a new pirate hat though. If there're going to be epic ones.

So, no augments-, no flask-, no hats-, no runearm-upgrade?
And some of the old enhancements are still on there (looks at Ratkiller for instance) while a better version is put out there.
Talking about Natural Bane / Bane of the Unnatural vs Animal Bane / Undead(or even Ghost) Bane.

Other then that, we got new items and I'm happy with that.
There are some big misses on these items tho, the dagger for instance.

Will write up a report for each item this evening.

    Red face

I remember the good ol times where everyone was waiting for the CC event cuz those items were better than any regular named loot in game at that point.

That event were taking 90% of server population. Nowadays it's dead in the water.

Can we rollback everything to 2011 and have fun again ?

Not to beat a dead cat, but 2012 was good too. A day before motd wasn't that bad either.

    Default What's the word?...

are you DEVs planning to adjust your loot upgrades, or are you leaving them as-is?

My advice, you re-adjust the loot again...make it more worthwhile for players to farm.

...and remember, Crystal Cove is a community building event. HELP US BUILD THIS COMMUNITY!!

    Question

Now that it's been announced that Crystal Cove will go Live around Halloween time, any chance we could get some comments on whether the feedback given in this thread caused any changes? U23 drops tomorrow, and the Cove will be back around a month from now, it'd be nice to get a comment from someone. Please, please, please, please, please, please, please.
