Default Help with LR'ing a 17th lvl Pale Trapper into something I will play

I want to LR my 17th level Pale Master into something I will actually play. I suffered along with this build to level 17 and I just plain don't like it and will never get him to 20 without considerable effort and that sounds like no fun.

I haven't LR'ed much and I dont know if this will work.
Is this possible with a +5 Lesser Heart?

The 1st column is what my current build took at that level and the second column is what I want to change into at the level.

    Pale Trapper to Pyrene variation
    Wiz/Rog 18/2 to Pally/Monk/Fighter 15/3/2

    1R (Change to M : 1 heart)
    2W (Change to F : 1 heart)
    3W (Change to P : 1 heart)
    4W (P)
    5W (P)
    6W (P)
    7W (P)
    8W (P)
    9R (Change to M : 1 heart)
    10W (Change to P : 1 heart)
    11W (P)
    12W (P)
    13W (P)
    14W (P)
    15W (P)
    16W (P)
    17W (P)
    (18W) P
    (19W) F
    (20W) M

If this isn't how it works can you explain to me what it would take to change this build into a self healing melee character I could take to cap with EDS.

    Thx
    /Mac

    Hi,

Going from the build you have to the one you want via reincarnation will be quite expensive and time-consuming.

You can't have more than three classes at any one time, so the plan you have for switching class levels would have to be amended to take that into account. If you're not Lawful Good already, you'll also be looking at an alignment change. And with such a drastic change, you may find that your character is unplayable for the duration of the process.

In the time it would take to LR, you could probably get knock out the last 500k or so xp, TR, and then have 34 stat points available for your next life as a paladin. For the amount of money it would cost to LR out of your current build, you could buy some quite nice stuff from the store, like a set of tomes if you don't already have them. Or you could just save the money for something else.

500k may sound daunting, but if you have friends or guildies who can help you it won't be that bad. If you need to solo, just do easy quests, and S/R/E in wilderness areas.

Also, bear in mind that the Pyrene is an advanced build for a 36 point (ie, third life plus) character with tomes and a lot of very good gear. It will take a lot of work, gearing up and filling out your EDs, before it's anything like what Symerith posted in his build description.

I don't mean to discourage you by saying this, but it seems fairly common for people to try powerful builds from the forums and then find they aren't anywhere near as effective as they expected. So be sure that it is the build for you, and be prepared for the amount of work it will take to get it done.

    Anyway, good luck with it.

    Thanks.

Yeah - I realized after posting and re-reading the wiki that this is probably un-doable without a lot of effort and cash.

My best bet would probably LR him into some sort of EK. But I think maybe piking him through the next 3 levels is the way to go.

    Thanks

17 to 20 really does not take long. Instead of buying a +5 LR, buy 50% XP pots. Wait for an XP bonus weekend. Or, see if friends/guildies/whoever have any cards which can be converted in to XP pots. Then you do it for free.

Get to 20 in a few hours and then TR to exactly what you want to play.

BTW: I cant imagine what is not fun about that build. Ive loved playing Rogue/Wizards. Only thing better is a pure Wizard !

    Hi,

I'm glad it helped, and I hope it turns out well for you.

I've made mistakes like this before, and I know what it's like. My wizard and druid lives on my main were disasters for the last few levels and gutting it out was very unpleasant. But in the end it didn't take that long.

    Take care.
