Question How Good/Bad is the Racial Tree for Drow?

I ask this question in two ways:

1)As a whole. Are they worth investing AP in? Do the enhancements help out well? You can be specifically situation-wise, or generally overall.

2)When Two Weapon Fighting. I have a TWF Drow Rogue for whom I invested 17 points in the tree:

    Quick AP Breakdown for tree:
    (1) 1st Core
    (2) 2nd Core
    (8) All four tiers of Xen'drik Weapon Training
    (6) All three ranks of Ambidexterity

For a TWF Drow, would this be a worthy investment, or could the points be spent better elsewhere? I also have TWF Pally Drow that hasn't invested in the racial tree yet, and planning a TWF Drow Melee Cleric. I know all it'll cost me is time and a few plat to rest the tree, but I'd like to ask anyway. I enjoy hearing feedback/opinions/advice from others.

Thank you in advice for responding to me plea.

    1. The Drow tree is esp good for casters that make good use of enchantment spells. For melee it really depends on what you are trying to do but I find the tree a little expensive but for example if I would use shurikens and shortswords then the AP investment in Xen'drik Weapon Training might pay off...

    2. I would rather spend these points in the Assassins tree for example, at least drop Ambidexterity way to expensive, the good things in the tree for melee IMO are Improved Dodge and Venomed Blades but you can get Venomed Blades in the Assassin tree.

edit: congrats on your first post

Wow sounds like you like your drow.

Generally drow enhancements are considered pretty poor. My main is a drow rogue and I have just checked what i have. I have first 4 core abilities and 3x Xen training. Would help to know abit more about your build and what other enhancements you are taking, dont compare to other races if you have your heart set on drow, but compare what you can get from class enhament tree at the cost of racial tree. I would suggest you ditch Amb as it is very costly for little reward.

I have a dex based Assassin with good int so maybe i need respec to spend more in mech so can use light repeaters. I dual a combination of rapier and ss so understand your wish for Xen traing, but personally found going for last one too expensive. I like haste from acro tree, better scrolling from mech and capstone from Ass, with some other bits, so doesnt leave a lot for racial.

Hope you find a balance that works for you.

I would skip the Ambidexterity enhs: +1 to-hit/dmg/Dodge for 6 APs is a pretty poor ROI, IMHO. On my TWF drow pally / monk I maxed out the core enhs (+2 CHA, +6 SR which stacks w/Spellshield Aura), Imp Dodge, and the first tier or two of Xen'drik. I wanted Venomed Blades too, but ran outta APs.

Default Some good advice already. Lovely.

Thanks for the advice and the congratz. I do particularly enjoy my Drow, though I have played the other races, to be sure, to be sure, and not just to get 400 favor either. I merely enjoy the look of said Drow, is all.

I'll be taking all this into consideration; looks like I'll drop Ambi from the racial tree and invest more in the class trees. Thanks for the assistance on this matter, all. I hope I can become more into this community and keep on seeking your help and give some once I know more than I do now.

I personally think the Drow tree is Underdeveloped

They don't qualify for Dragonmarks due to Ebberon Lore
They don't have access to Arcane Archer
Darkfire looks good on paper, but not so much in game
Enchantment Lore is a waste of space
Nothing is Hidden is WAY overpriced at 2AP per tier

As others have said, there IS some good stuff in the tree for your Assassin, just overall I find the Drow racial tree needing a Dev pass.

Racial buffs to weapons are calculated before critical hit damage. So if you like short swords, they buff them well. Some players like using them for weaponized monks, since the capstone improves two of the Xendrik weapons.
The envenomed blades is very nice in conjunction with the Monk ninja tier 3 Sting of the Ninja. As the poison immunity grows, the poison hit increases in damage. nice on bosses.

Envenomed blades also works on ranged weapons.

I agree Drow females are very hot

This is usually a very helpful community but if you get any BS just ignore it!

I generally run just enough into the drow racial tree to get nothing is hidden (auto search with high enough search/spot is amazing as you can easily get the traps before the group rushes face first into most).

I think I generally put a little into the drow weapons training, but not too much - a lot of it goes into assassin when I'm running full rogue, and a little into mech.
