Mirror of Glamering test

So I bought a couple thousand astral shards and started gold rolling.
After about 500 shards spent, it finally popped up on a roll of 97:



So, let's take a 'nice' looking armor - Cormyrian Scalemail!


Use the mirror and put it in:



The result - a cosmetic armor (you also keep the original armor!):


Slapping my normal armor on - yep, keeping the look of the cormyrian scalemail:


It doesn't even bind!


Also works on helmets (time to farm VoN6, lol).

TL;DR: With the Mirror of Glammering you can convert the look of any armor into a cosmetic armor.

Devs (and Quartermasters) take not: I and many others would pay TP aka real-life money for this in the DDO Store. Best of all, it's purely cosmetic and not PTW.

given that it has a caster lvl 0, does it work armors that have a clicky and thus give the clicky ability as a cosmetic item?, and does it work with any armor or just nonamed,

does that min level effect it at all? if that that would kinda suck, since your not getting a benefit it should be ml 0. and also the auction says btc on acquire, so does that means it'd bind to whoever buys it?

cosmetic 'wieght' have absolutely no value. my PM who is wearing the shroud of the abbot, currently has a 'heavy armor' cosmetic on.


it basically strips everything except the appearance, although still kinda curious about clicky's, and here's hoping they do transfer over. But.. I dont see the point of a ML on cosmetic items. even with a clicky (even one as good as the shadow armor, if it can be mirror'd) doesnt deserve a ML. the cost of making/using the mirror should be enough.

I'm so glad I read this thread. With armor kits on sale I've been trying to figure out a good look for my rogue, and don't like any of the light armors in the store. Plus, I've been bemoaning the lack of a cosmetic mask, because the bandit look was too perfect when his randgen helmet happened to be a mask.....

(Too bad I just bought a heavy armor one for my FvS, which is cool looking, except for the wicked wedgie I didn't notice before buying.....)

I see that the barter box lets you choose armor or docent. Anyone tried it to see what happens if you put in a named armor (or docent) that doesn't have the other type? Maybe Quorforged Docent or Marilith Chain?

just remember what Cordovan said : It's something that is not really ready ( even by Lammania Standard ) that sneaked out early, so things can change in what it does and what it does not do.

This is something I've been exactly asking for, a cosmetic blank to get the look of one in-game armor while wearing another... Grats Turbine, youv'e just pre sold at least 5 and I don't even know how much they cost... And if it works on Shilds and Helms too, oh Giggidy Giggidy Giggidy
