What they could always do is use the quests for flagging, and use the sigil for a extra loot drop with guaranteed uber loot.
They gotta do SOMETHING. I mean, it's annoying to the point of being bad for the game.
Being sick of the Orchard but unable to find that last @#@$%@ sigil piece made me ragequit the game for a month or so. Now I'm back, still unable to get it, and will probably ragequit again soon enough.

Not to de-rail but I think having to find 3 different gems from rare encounters within 6 different slayers zones to open another slayer zone AND having to complete 3 other quests to get dragon essences every time you want to run (or buy the essences after you have completed the flagged quest) the final quest is a bit worse than running decent experience quests and then running a decent experience quest four times with those sweet monster manual xp bonuses.
That's exactly why I have never run sos after 4years in the game.
Agreed, it's tedious, but doesn't take as long as Abbot flagging. Why can't everything be like Titan? Or, at the very least, like VoN?
That said, I saw a thread asking to change flagging on Necro 1-3, which works much like SoS.
More likely because there is nothing of value in that pack, aside from lulz/flavor.

I see nothing wrong with the flagging system here. It has to be challenging at least, and rewarding at the end. I don't think it's a good idea to finish everything on day one.
Heroic Orchard has some unique quests that I don't mind. They are a bit challenging at level, especially for people running non-casters. I've flagged for it the first two lives of my main.. and I think I ran it once or twice successfully and was in maybe 5 or 6 failed runs before that. The raid itself has some interesting mechanics but IMO there are a few too many of these and it's exceptionally difficult to get a PUG group all on the same page. If you consider that at heroic level a lot of VON PUGs have a hard time just doing the trapped halls where the party splits.. you should know that anything more complicated than that is going to cause issues. (Caveat.. I am able to do the things I just mentioned and I am not implying anyone here is incapable of them either.. or that they're even difficult, I am simply stating that for a typical PUG they for whatever reason seem to be too complex in my experience).
As to the living mobs dying and coming back and the second one not counting for slayers. There are quests with a simliar mechanic and the second spawning counts towards Conquest bonus, so I don't understand why it doesn't count for slayers.
There is a lot of named gear in Ascension Chamber.. hopefully in the epic content it's spread out a little bit (a lot) more. I would also hope to see epic versions of the turn-ins from heroic (shields, helmets, etc.)
On the design of Lady Vol, I hope that is rough art.. it looks generic and uninspired. I've seen a million drawings like that on Deviant Art and the notebook of just about every 15 year old boy that draws. That's totally uninspired, unoriginal, and exceptionally boring. Nothing about it strikes me as iconic and it is not the type of design that I would expect on this level of boss. On a named rare.. maybe but come on.. that's extremely lazy character design.
On existing Abbot gear. Can we surmise that this loot will be re-vamped in a way similar to the heroic level GH gear? Will we be able to update our old items or will we have to re-grind as had been the trend? If the answer is re-grind, you need to come up with something else because I won't be doing it. I have so much stuff that is out-moded from updates that I now have to re-grind.. I have better things to do with my time, and most of them do not involve DDO.
Are you kidding me....because flagging in too hard?? That is not why people dont run it.....its because the tiles are too much hassle. people are only willing to do so many failed raids before they stop caring about any loot that may be in there.
In all the years I have spent running that raid on my main account and never getting a single drop, I stopped caring long ago.... the drop rate is not in balance with the pain in the rear those tiles are to get past.
Flagging in my view is just the means to be able to farm litany...other than that I got no use for that raid
