Sorcer Epic gear thread

Hi Everyone

I'm running a sorc through epic content for the first time ever and was wondering what gear you recommend? I'm gonna grab me some spidersilk robes as I heard they are ace, but am a bit stumped as for options for other gear? I'm air/fire savant with a strong blasty blasty boom oh-****-the-house-caught-fire playstyle, so anything that reduces metamagic costs, improves damage output, increases DCs or increases SP (I already have a wizardry GS item so get lots from that) would be most welcome.

Please note that I don't just want endgame gear, but anything that would work viably for whilst I'm levelling the epic levels too!

Sorc's are not highly gear dependant, but gear can certainly make them better. I like Sages Necklace form Wheloon chain (+5 Evocation DC and Spellsight). Flawless Blue Dragon Scale Armor/Robe/Docent would be a nice addition. Any gear for the best CHR and CON you can get and your golden.


OH...there is also a set of Goggles from the Storm Horns Chain that is a good combustion item. Can't remember the name or quest.

Hey thanks for that, yeah I'm looking around but gear is pretty difficult to combo up.

so far I already have the L23 Twilight staff and was going to get the planar focus to go with it, but might skip that now for Sage's necklace as +5 to evo DC will bring my evo DC to 55

At level 24 you can get spell focus augments from the trades in GH (topaz of evocation focus) this stacks with other item based spell focus items (ie. you can get +5+2 from items)

Flawless Blue Dragon Scale Armor/Robe/Docent would be a nice addition.

And you really want to get the flawless blue helm as well as the set gives you more USP.

Seal of House Szind is nice, several of the epic house Cannith challenge items really aren't bad to have. The Rock Boots, the Cloak of Flames and the Bracers of the Wind might all work well for you... at least for a time.

Aside from their regular benefits they give you augment slots when tier 3ed which are rather handy to have at epic levels.

A few items, depending on your level, your spec, etc.

Here is a short list of items you can consider. It is not a complete list. Most of these are fairly easy to obtain.

• Implement of the Deep Woods
• Symbol of the shining sun
• Sage Locket (Both versions)
• Sage Mantle
• Sage Ring
• Guardian Ring
• PDK Gloves/Iron Mitts
• Bracers of the wind
• Plundered Pirate Hat
• Shadow Dragon Armor

This is leveling oriented. Cap gear will probably not include any of those.
I don't like Blue Dragon helm. It is overly expensive, and I find the pirate hat nicer.
Blue dragon armor is very lackluster too, but if you wear both it and helm it is decent. Still I prefer a good armor with the pirate hat.

Here is the list of bonuses I try to always get on a sorc:

• Element spell power + Element lore x2 (1 for each of my elements). + 1 swap for Impulse and kinetic lore.
• Charisma/Insightful Charisma/Exceptional Charisma
• Constitution/Insightful Constitution/Exceptional Constitution
• Litany
• False life (+30 or more)
• Vitality (+20 or more)
• SP (Archmagi or Better)
• Greensteel HP
• Fortification (100% or more)
• Enchantment Focus + Enchantment focus augment
• Evocation Focus+ Evocation focus augment
• PRR
• Resistance (+5 or better)

And here are the nice to have

• Dodge (6% or better)
• Good luck (+2 or +3)
• Dexterity (for reflex safe)
• Ghostly
• Greensteel SP
• Concentration bonus
• Wisdom (for will save)
