Comedy legend Robin Williams takes his own life.

Robin Williams' shocking death, apparently by taking his own life, will reverberate to every corner of the civilized world. I hope this is enough to get the world to wake up (ok, maybe somewhere - it will).

The picture above is Williams' last tweet and Instagram, on July 31, when he wished his daughter, Zelda Rae, a happy 25th birthday. "Quarter of a century old today but always my baby girl," he captioned the photo.

I met him in person once in an upscale section of the Bronx, NY called City Island in 1989, on set of the movie Awakenings. After his scenes, he'd take a brake and talk to the crowd that formed outside the single family home he was taping in. He had a glowing smile that was kinetic, but his eyes were so sad. His ability to improvise humor is a feat of legend. He just picked us out of the audience one by one, and made us laugh. I mean like within seconds. His talent to entertain via comedy was HUGE. One of the all time greats.

As a father myself, I am deeply moved and saddened. Rest in Peace, give em hell up there Mr. Williams.

Also #!%@ CBS for cancelling The Crazy Ones. Great moments between Robin and SMG with its own twisted sense of humor. Working on that series now might have abated the depression.

I was completely in shock when I heard. never saw him not smiling. he was always joking around in interviews. Robin Williams was a true comedic legend that will always be remembered as one of the greats. comedy just took a huge loss.

Unfortunately sometimes with incredible artistic genius, one also can have overwhelming demons to battle.

Robin was notorious for ad-libbing his lines and eventually his ability to play a broad variety of roles. We were lucky to have seen the evolution of his genius. He will be missed.




At least we know that now that Robin and Jonathon Winters are reunited, heaven will have no shortage of laughter.

It is generally discussed in entertainment circles that Robin Williams played Dungeons & Dragons. He was also known to have played Call of Duty .. and of course Legends of Zelda.

Every gamer should watch this. What a beautiful relationship this father and daughter had....

There is so much emotional pain in our world. How he must have been hurting/depressed to take his own life with all he had accomplished.
