Default Order of Syncletica: Are You Really a Hero?

The game brings out the adventurer in all of us.

But does it bring out the true hero inside you?

The lack of quest groups in DDO show otherwise. Evennote's recent post was the zenith of a pile of shame I've been building for some time.

I'm no "hero", but I should be.

I often have wondered a similar thing; why don't people who are working toward their next life post lefm's. The worst that happens is you lose some time and have to do it over again. The best that happens is you lose some time, make friends, and learn from each other ways to do things better or with greater ease.

So if people value the time they lose from absolute failure more than the benefit of gaining some friends, working together, and potentially learning something; then ddo isn't the game they should be playing.

I'll be the last to point fingers as I'm not the most inherently sociable person. But yes, our culture (gaming or otherwise) seems to precipitate isolating yourself just enough so as not be bothered, but not so far enough as to laud about what you've done.
