    Default Bear-dar-kai Help needed

    Hi there!

I'm interested in trying out this Bear-dar-kai idea. It seems fun to be a big bear swinging a big chain!
So my question is, can anyone help me with a basic build for it? 32 points, shadar-kai.

I read that dev idea, seems 2 rogue, 8 druid for big bear and 10 fighter... but i didn't play a fighter like never! And i don't know which enchancements to take . Same with the bear. Can someone help?

Stats prob. max str and con, what else?
Thx for a quick reply, i wanna make him and play him asap!

Ah and what equipment to use? Weapon? What type of armour [i have a parasitic breastplate].

dunno if twf worked with animal form, if so... what about 11 ranger 8 druid 1 rogue? ill do it XD

its much easier to figure because... well, because u get all ur combat feats and evasion for free, so u can pick the feats u prefer for ur toon, whatever!

an always can use manyshot which is... a nice burst XD

PS: im saying it because nice thing comes at 12 fighter (power surge) so u should go 12 fighter 8 druid for that (which isn't possible for shadar-kai w/o spending $$ which i don't suggest u :P)
psykopeta is finally baconpletionist because there isn't anything to delay it more - thelanis, where the gimps claim to be pros and noobs claim to be pros, no newbies allowed(unless they claim to be pros), we have enough drama w/o them. PS: I post only in the latest thread shown in main page, in the weird case u want something from me, feel free to send pm

Twf doesn't work with animal form. And i can't go shadar kai without rogue lvl :P don't have +1 heart of wood. But if you suggest ranger, explain it more :P i wanted to gather all mobs possible, and cleave, whirlwind, alpha strike and chain them to death.

You wouldn't be in bad shape doing dru/wiz/rogue. I don't think you can do undead, but you could/should be able to take ek up and be in tensers.

I'm not an authority on melee builds. But I can't wait to see a bear whipping a chain around

AFAIK, they haven't fixed the bugs yet with TWF in animal form.

One problem with this build is your SDK chain DC is based on DEX, but I'm not sure if any of the DEX-to-dmg effects will carry over to animal form. Maybe Dagger in the Back will work? If it does, then something like rog 3 / druid 9 / ftr 8 would be my suggestion. Or possibly monk instead of ftr using short swords + Ninja Training.

    Intriguing idea you have.

I did test on live and you can use the chain while in bear form and an animal stance active.
Just took a couple levels to test. The chain did kill kobolds in Waterworks.

Funny since my druid life I am going into will be a shadar kai wolf. Looks a lot like the wolves in the thing.

Not a build, but the Wiki says:

Weapon finesse allows the character to use his dexterity modifier instead of the strength modifier when making melee attack rolls with light weapons, rapiers, and unarmed strikes. The highest of the strength and dexterity modifiers will be used for attack rolls with qualifying weapons. The strength modifier is still used as a bonus to the damage roll, however.

The following weapon types benefit from Weapon Finesse: Dagger, Handaxe, Kama, Kukri, Light hammer, Light mace, Light pick, Rapier, Shortsword, Sickle, Unarmed or in a Druid animal form.

Ranger Deepwood Stalker tier 2 ability:
Improved Weapon Finesse: You can use your Dexterity modifier for damage when wielding melee weapons with which you can use your Dexterity modifier to hit. BUG: Does not work with Handwraps
