    Default Cards

Are my cards that I have saved useless?

They are pretty to look at.

Otherwise, yes. And they gave plenty of warning.

Not really plenty of warning. I do not waste my time on the forums.

This just means I will not spend as much money on this game as before.

Having these cards meant a lot to me to be able to use at my discretion.

The information was provided in multiple locations. Not turbines fault that you did not read it.

I spent a lot of extra MONEY and TIME getting those cards for them to become redundant in a year.

Why should we spend anything the next time one of these promos come around.

Sure like the game, but will not spend any money to play it like I was.

    This sounds overly sour.

It was a nice extra that they provided that was clearly meant to provide a certain, limited, number of toys to enjoy for a while. It wasn't something for which we were asked to pay extra, so it doesn't make a lot of sense that having them go away would cause you to stop buying stuff.

The same about Cookies. I bought a cookie jar a couple years ago. Still have some . Now I am playing on a new world. Not paying for a new Cookie Jar this time. Once burned. Bought extra characters for cards. not again.

Your cards may not be useless. Much like cake, you have to give it a few years.

Can't have your cake and eat it too. So eager to frequent the forums to complain but not to read up on issues that involve you in the first place?!? Hmmm, definitely user error NOT turbine's fault.
Kinda like investing in a company and not reading up in how/what they are doing. They gave PLENTY of time for you to use that invested time and $$$, so it is not wasted.
And also, the wording does somewhat indicate that (maybe just maybe) in the future they might be turned on for a small window of time to be used.

    Interesting.

You don't have time to waste occasionally checking the forums (particularly the service news & announcements section) for information, yet do have time to waste complaining about the consequences of having not done so...

I would still like to see... Something that tests character versatility and player adaptability rather than character focus strength and quest knowledge.
I play the quests for the content of the quests not just as an XP/min merry-go-round.
Actual play experience is worth infinitely more than theorycrafting...

My advice to you? Grow up.

It was posted weeks ago in the middle of November, that U24 would be the end of cards.

Just because you didn't see it doesn't mean there wasn't ample warning. You cant bury your head in the sand then cry foul when things you don't like happen.

People enjoyed being to use the same cards over and over again at their discretion. It lasted far too long as it is and hurt the game tremendously.

We got the cards in March for the birthday and celebration of D&D 40th anniversary.

As far as I know, none of the cards cost me money. It was a free roll. Not to mention, you could ONLY roll once per account on each server. If you somehow bought extra characters for free rolls, you know of something the rest of us don't. Or at least me.

If you had two accounts, you could roll once per account on each server, for a total of 16 cards. Two cards per server, per day. I know this for fact as this is what I did.

We still have festivult cookies. They change each year.

The cards might be activated again next March, 2015. Who knows. My guess, the cards will be activated in late February/March but with different traits. Not too many, but some different ones. At least that is what I am banking on. I have leftover cards on each server.

If you are on Cannith or Ghallanda I can give you Festivult cookies. I have tons, I never use them. I also bought the largest cookie jar on both servers.

One more question, if new players RIGHT NOW with a new account that was just made today, after the update are still getting the RED GIFT BOX, guess what, that either means that Turbine did not take it out(always a chance of incompleteness from Turbine) or else they are going to bring the cards back.

Otherwise, all the new players will be going huh, what is this for if I can't use it?!?!

Here is the answer from the release notes.

    Events:
Anniversary Cards and future card recipes are now linked to their events, which means that the recipes created by combining various cards will only be available when the event is active. Anniversary Cards can no longer be used to make Anniversary Card recipes.

Festivult Cookies have seen some adjustments for 2014! The Lord of Blades Cookie now has Blade Barrier, the Marilith Cookie has Burning Blood, Suulomades Cookies now has Teleport (and can be used in public spaces), the Warforged Titan Cookie now has Titan's Grip, and the Web Cookie now has Rejuvenation Cocoon

CARDS ARE NOT USELESS. Please continue with you normal routine.

Ooooo, Suulomades cookies!!! I wonder how many of those I have.

Then why are you posting here now?
If you can't spend the time here to be even somewhat informed, why are you complaining here?
You and a hermit on Elba who doesn't have an internet connection are the only people that didn't know this was happening.

    Congratulations.

I'm sure some people didn't hear about this, but in addition to the forums, I saw it mentioned in general, guild and channel chats in the last week or so as people were trying to finish crunching. While it sucks that you missed the news, it's hard to fault turbine for you not knowing.

I only read the release Notes. Rarely read the Forums or Twitter. Only when DDO breaks.

I just opened a Box on a brand new character. More GARBAGE from lack of Notification. They do have eMail to all players?

Players deserve better guidance and in this game there is none.

Just leave the game altogueter man...

Whats the point of playing an MMO with this much duping and P2W? Gathering stuff and gear is meaningless. First players will come, play the entire story-arcs with their buddies and leave. Or stick around but never care any more about loot or achievements.
