armor pentaly check with heavy armor

hello when i equip a peice off heavy armor before i equip it in yellow it says armor pentaly check -5 and spell faliure but does this actually mean i get a pentaly check and if so why cos i know fighters can wear all sorts off armor x

Yeah, you get the penalty. it's one of the drawbacks of wearing heavier armors. The armor check penalty is applied to certain skills, like jump, balance, and other "Physical" skills. you wont need to worry about spell failure if you're a fighter, but for an arcane caster it really sucks.
