    Hi Hen! We really do think alike. Sorry it took so long, I was pretty much in the pool all weekend and away from my comp. So worth it too.

    More common? Mmm, that would be a close race that I'd lay my wager against. However, the "never early" crowd was always an easy loser bet.

    For science!*

    I went back as far as October last year, excluding store or account only downtimes. It was hard because when turbine extend downtimes sometimes they also sneakily edit the forum title so its easy to miss the fact that actually they're 2 hours later than they were supposed to be etc. However I've done my best. This is what i found:

    By which we can see, I think.... that its about 50/50, and it all averages out at about the same 'extra' downtime as it does 'less'. If anything, I'd say that when they're early they tend to be more early than they are late when they're late. If you see what I mean (e.g. the most 'early' they have been in the last 6 months is 3 hours. The most 'late' they have been is 2.5hrs).

    Note figures above do not bother with start times, they ignore server restarts, and they take absolutely no account whatsoever of things being up then needing a couple of server restarts to actually get going. If you want more crunchiness, go do it yourself

    *but also because I couldn't let Revolted's post stand unaddressed. 'Since WB'?! Even I'm not that cynical about WB, and I blame their marketing/sales/legal dept 100% for DDO's decline.

    A good engineer just gets their estimates right. An engineer who sees no other opportunity to show how good they are because they're stuck down in an engine room that the captain never bothers to visit unless his bezzie mate is cooking to death... well, they always overstate.

    Geordie LaForge taught me that.*

    Bad management is always the problem

    *Belanna taught me to kick ass while angsting over my upbringing, and Trip mostly taught me how to wear down the emotional defences of hot Vulcans, then DIAF. Personally I'd take Data and Janeway over any of them, the Science Officers always know what to do. I mean they always say one of two things, and one of them always works: either reverse the polarity of whatever it is, or reroute tachyons at it through the main deflector dish. Why they don't ever just do those things first I'll never know. Probably the same reason they haven't installed any fuses yet.

    Being an Engineer myself, I should like to share my views on optimisam or pessimism when the servers will come back;

    You see, a pessimist will say the glass is half empty, an optimist will say half full.

    An Engineer will state the truth: The glass is the wrong size

    Engineer: The glass is the wrong size.
