I'd guess a lot of the recent server farm maintenance downtimes are for twiddling with the servers/networking for Turbine's new Batman fights himself MOBA. Lots of complaints about lag and connectivity for that open beta game. Hence we get to enjoy server downtimes while they tweak the central connectivity stuff. I'd guess. Maybe it's really just "routine" at a higher frequency than previously....

Seriously, aren't you all tired of replying to maintenance threads? Shirley, and yes I'll call you Shirley, you realize that MS came out with a lot of security updates this week. I don't know what Turbine runs and they won't tell us because of security. But they need to install/upgrade security and performance software. Shirley, that can include server security firmware upgrades that doesn't need to be publicly announced.

I'm liking this 'start the maint at 6am' stuff. Sorry if some of the devs and workers are losing sleep but it is just great starting it earlier and being done earlier.

Allow me to be the first to point out: worlds are open EARLY. I notice the usual suspects aren't here to say that, unlike when things are late when they show up to claim that it's 'always' late.

I must start keeping some stats to throw at those folks. My gut says that if you take the last 3 years, you'll find early is more common than late.

Thank you very much for the new "prepare players to wait for a bunch of hours, open early" system, instead of the old system "tell players it will take a couple of hours, but in reallity it will take double that"! It's much much much better, sincerely. It makes us feel you're competent, while in the old system we always thought, **** it they can never open in time!

That's finally the beginning of good costumer service, one of the first times I really feel this way since WB bought this!
