Reasons new iconics are a good idea:
- Increased revenue from purchase of iconic
- Increased traffic 15-28
- Increased revenue from store sales (+1 LR hearts, tomes, pots...)
- Allows players to test new builds very easily
- They allows unique races/abilities, but create restrictions as well
- Currently there is no way to make eberron religion based classes other than lord of blades.
- more iconic may eventually lead to iconic completionist
We also still have 5 base classes without
- Barbarian
- Bard
- Ranger
- Sorcerer
- Wizard
There are also the paid classes which I'd love to see, but I don't know what kind of issues they might bring up. I'll cover those later.
They already missed the perfect opportunity to release a bard iconic with update 22. A race w/ +2 charisma and swf bonuses in the racial tree would have been great to test out all the swashbucklers. And with the upcoming changes to warchanter/spellsinger, there would have been even more builds to test with it.
Anyways, here are my race/pairing that I'd like to see.
barbarian-dwarf battle rager, give the tree a focus on damage mitigation(PRR) and a "you hit me, I hit you" mechanic. If they want to take it a step further, I'd give it the option to go "unarmed" and use a new unarmed fighting animation- similar to druid bear form, using 1d6/5 character level (Higher damage than monk, but slower attack speed)
bard-not sure on the race, but it'd better have charisma bonuses. I also think it'd be neat to pair it with a racial tree that benefits SWF. Also try and make it a Eberron race.
ranger- here, as much as I cringe, they should do a drizzt style drow ranger. Give it the summon pet feat as part of the racial, as well as pet improvements in the racial tree. Make the pet a panther. Profit.
Sorcerer- I'm not really sure what to do with sorcerers.
Wizard- I'd really like to see a dragonmarked halfing wizard. I just feel like that's a fun idea. Autogrant it the dragonmark feat, adjust the racial tree to include intelligence enhancements, and a 3rd tier enhancment of "Intelligent healing- You now use your intelligence modifier for the heal skill instead of your wisdom." I'd also like to see a t4 regenerate dragonmark enhancement- 1 use/minute
