Default Order of Syncletica: Alone in the Shroud

I do enjoy joining up with a good party for quests and raids. But I often play solo because I can re-define how an adventure will go for more enjoyment. Sadly, DDO lacks greatest here, where their automated dungeonmasters and quest objectives become very predictable.

One solo achievement, still a rarity among adventurers and a serious challenge, even on Normal difficulty, is completing the Shroud raid alone.

Completing this raid using the using the lowest-base damage weapon in the game (1d2) should gain sufficient "bragging rights," you think?

    >>>Szyncletica the star-throwing ninja is prepping for her 2nd attempt. Read on for more on her prep and first attempt.

Looking forward to seeing you attempt this again. Considering a throwing build somewhere down the road, got myself a Shadow Star and a Snowstar for the early levels, what gear should I be looking to obtain before I TR? Is a Min II GS Shuriken really needed, or would a LitII provide more raw damage (with a Radiance GS shortsword in the off-hand? Or a Treason?) I know you are mostly Dex-focused, but did you invest into Wisdom as well for 10k stars?

In your first life, gather the three named stars. Both Shadow Star and Snowstar have greater critical threat or range and do very well against anything that doesn't have a high metallic or alignment DR. I love the Snowstar for most every quest below level 16.

A Mineral II GS star is recommended as you'll be able to use that in a second life right away, not to mention the need for a potent Harry/devil Beater. If you can get your hands on a returning Silver shuriken, you can using Cannith Crafting to make a beater.

If you can craft only one GS star, I'd go for the Triple-Positive Greater Disrupting GS Star. As shown here, it whips ol' Garamol back to the hells (turn on Captioning for details). You're weakest against slash-resistant aberrations and undead, and finding a disrupting star is virtually impossible. The Morning Star shuriken is a good undead-punishing alternative if you can add a Ruby of the Vampire Slayer. This star also comes in Epic versions and is reasonably easy to farm from "Friends in Low Places" in Wheloon Prison. Others might also recommend ample Shroud runs to make Displacement clickies.

On WIS: the Shiradi Shuricannon that Firewall developed uses the Dexterity-to-Damage powers of a fully leveled Ninja Spy Drow. But WIS should be kept reasonably high, too. My build isn't very high (26-32) for Ten Thousand Stars, but I also trained in any passive ki regeneration effects so I can take advantage of 10K's one advantage over Manyshot: You can use it once per minute versus every 2 minutes. A 42+ WIS would be more optimal for that extra 4th star or a greater 3rd star thrown per attack.

As for the off-hand during Heroic, Devotion, Seeker and Deception are helpful to improve healing, add damage, and bluff-out enemies for more attacks without a counter. A Treason is a good blade for Deception if I recall. Epic 'Cannons strive for a Celestia from CitW, whose Light and Fire bombing effects really help with mass damage.
