Thank you very much for allthe help. Looks like Fighter is the way to go with a dex build, or perhaps pally for saves.

    2 questions:

    1) How does one handle having so little Will saves?

    2) What should my enhancements look like? Should I focus on extra trap skills in rogue or assassinate? Are the extra poison dmg from the drow or assassinate tree Worth the APs? Should i stay focused on rapiers or just dual wield Kukris?

for shurikens to reach their full potential you'd really want 3 monk levels.

As is you may find during manyshot a bow is better, and for general ranging a shuriken is better.

True, but ninja core 2 is effectively a second and stacking shuriken expertise, I was referring to that.

first its always nice to see someone who wants to play a drow, after all they are just that cool.

However be warned Drow are the red headed step children of DDO, most of their racial enhancments are buggy or out and out broken, and so little thought is given to drow as so few play them it seems unlikely the kinks in them will ever be fixed.

That said there really is only one ideal path to the master of the twin rapier style.

8fighter/7monk/5rogue focused on dex and int mainly. You will become a kensai of the weapons drow favor and eventually all including rapiers will be centered weapons for you, your saving throws will be healthy, your racial SR will help, especially if you end up in the epic destiny grandmaster of flowers that can help push the Spell Resistance to numbers that while not really meaningful in Epic Elite will make a noticable difference in all content short of that dif range.

You will be able to move quick, hit hard, endure alot, and recover with minimal effort after a rough fight as long as you got some ki to wholeness of body with. This build can be very effective even for a first lifer with little twink gear as it makes great use of a large variety of weapons that can be aquired with minimal time investments.

Frankly I would likely just go play a drow on NWO if playing one still mattered to me. At least there drow are so popular when bugs crop up with them they jump on it to fix them asap knowing they are a real draw to fans

Sure, but once you start down the path of playing a centered monk, forever will it dominate your destiny...or at least give a strong incentive to take monk 6: 3 bonus feats, free Adept of Forms, access to 10K Stars, Shadow Form, etc. But that's not really the build under discussion, so maybe we shouldn't get too sidetracked...

Thank you very much for your educated advice. I would be VERY interested in:

    - what racial abilites are buggy, and

    - the important must- have feats/enhancements of the build you suggest.

    - a build order...

    Thank you

My 13/6/1 build is slightly different from fTdOmen's, but the core concept is the same. For variety's sake I went heavy into DWS, but it's pretty easy to respec Enhancements, so feel free to experiment. Note that I'm picking up DEX-to-dmg from Imp Weap Finesse (DWS T2), rather than Tempest or Dagger in the Back.

Thank you so much for all the help.

I see that the drow enhancements are pretty lightly touched? You dont like them?

I'm still relatively new to DDO; however, I like the elf tree for my dex build as it gives +1 to hit and damage each tree advancement to rapier, longsword and longbow (alternatively shortsword, scimitar and shortbow).
When maxed on that tree you get dex to damage.

What no one has really got to the bottom of yet is why you want a 2xrapier drow particularly. I think its just cos it sounds cool. I am totally OK with that as a reason, that is in fact a great reason.

But then you asked whether kukris or rapiers was the way to go... so maybe what you want is the 'best' TWF Drow. Maybe you're just tempted by the siren song of top level DPS.

I'll probably cop some flack for 'bad advice' but personally, I would urge you to stick to your original concept if that was your gut instinct for what you wanted to play. You don't want to be regretting it now, right? Your damage output will not be 'the best'. But it will still do very nicely with some of the class mixes proposed. Nicely enough that you'll still do fine.

You could look at it another way: taking the 'best' enhancements is like running easy mode. We don't run DDO to run easy mode! Worse than that - you won't even look as good doing it!

If you get to 20 and think 'this just isn't cutting it' then TR, and go full shortsword or kukri crazy. But try it the way you want it first, find out for yourself.
