Hm, I changed a lvl 10 bard around that I had on Lam land (to test swash) and also found that it was hard to choose what to pick where and when. Still went for a decent amount of swash in the first turn (because she is more done towards melee than casting currently), so it was full of tough choices to make with the 30 or so AP available after that.
But in contrast to you, I think its good if we are forced to choose between things we actually want.

updates should make you stronger or more balanced the new chant and and cleaves(over. costly tho) are nice but lets put it like this if your worried about be op. your doing it wrong. easy fixes move chants to core and be auto granted with core. fill empty slot with longer songs or more song options. many things can be done. plz fix this was so looking to go back to being a bard now can't wait to hit 28 and tr

Cool. Is there still room for a cheap T5 enhancement:
    * Armorer II: You can now Swashbuckle in medium armor.

This prevents you from taking T5 in Swashbuckler tree, so it could probably have some additional goodies, at least some reduction of armor check penalties; perhaps some extra max dex.

    They gave us something better.
Chant of Power: You and nearby allies gain +2/4/6% melee damage, ranged damage, and spell critical chance.

The new chants are great, but PRR and resistances from them don't stack with Warmaster bonuses from Song of Heroism. That just seems a bit odd.

Well the changes for warchanter have been released:

    The good
Most of the tier 4 and 5 chants seem good. The tier 2 and 3 chants seem weak. Fortunately they are not prereqs for each other. At least the warchanter is not burdened with a separate song for each.

Kingly recovery is quite powerful and cheap. Almost too powerful. ( 1 AP per use up to 3 )

Howl of the North providing a constant +1 multiplier for 19-20 is good

Giving the melee pigeon-holed warchanter more hp is always good.

    The Bad
Limited value boast still needs inspire bravery as a near worthless pre-req and still requires a song use.

I still find it hilarious the 1 AP in sprint gives you +35% run speed for 20 seconds and 2 AP gives you +40% run speed for 20 seconds. Talk about diminishing returns for further investment taken to the nth degree!

    The Ugly
The frozen-ice line is all pre-reqs for one another ( 15 AP for whole line), have highly questionable DC, now require stunning equipment to even have a chance, slowly bleeds your spellpoints and should you be lucky enough to freeze an enemy doesn't even last that long. Am I missing something?

    Final analysis
The chants provide some value, but not enough. I just don't see a viable character under all that when compared to other enhancement lines.

I think the freeze durations are fine otherwise people would call them OP. They happen to give the mob 5 Adamantine DR as well(cuz their solid ice). I find my Frozen fury lasting a little longer than Spinning Ice. I think it was changed to last equal to bard level but I'm not totally sure. With maxed out frozen fury you can freeze lock the enemy.

I will say this though, its been a blast running into a group and freezing everything. Sometimes a group member will say, "Who keeps freezing this stuff?" I reply, "Me, the warchanter."

Also, playing in Primal Avatar has been extremely satifisfying. Both frozen fury and spinning ice can be used while in Tree form. I was running EE Tor freezing giants and critting them for 9k. I pop damage boost and haste boost before going Avatar. I like to call it "Tree of Frozen Death." I happen to also be TWF so sometimes I get doublestrikes. Works well having balizarde main and hammer of the leaden clouds offhand.

For chants, I only took Chant of Power and Reckless Chant. I have fighter levels and picked up tactics(+3) so I had to sacrifice some Warchanter AP.

Overall, I'm really liking this fresh approach to a melee group support bard.
