Drow SR Increase

Right, so running through Beyond the Rift EE I started seeing blue shields.

Blue shields are my arch-nemesis and as a rule I never see them since drow content is part of the focus of my current build.



Boom. So, there is it 3 + 54 = 57 failure.

Pre U22, to the best of my knowledge since I haven't played much in recent months, 54 was the cutoff for no-fail on everything but Drow Priestesses and Orange Names.

Incidentally this is the greatest travesty ever since it affects my build.

SR for drow is CR+10. That mob has 58 SR so your 57 fails.

The drow trash in the new quest have 71 spell resist.

True. I suppose calling it a CR increase rather than an SR increase is more accurate. I'm still sure there's been a change.

I think there might be some SR-related bug, too.

A time or two lately, I've failed a Spell Pen check in Shroud, and on a good roll, too. Nothing in a level 17 quest should have more Spell Resistance than 51+17=68. And it's not consistent...other mobs of the exact same type have no issue, even on a much lower roll.

I haven't submitted a bug report, because I haven't had enough information to reproduce it consistently.

You may be right. I did a hard Running with the Devils last week and got a few odd failures against the orange-named devil at the end of teh optional tunnel. The devil was CR 23 or 24, I think, and I was unable to land Word of Balance against him, even with rolls of 14 and 17 + 29. It's possible that he simply has an extra high Spell Resist because of his orange status, but it seemed out of whack compared to spells I've used against other orange-nameds with SR.

Most likely the flesh golems. But they are pretty much immune to anything that has SR check

Yep, it was a flesh golem. I threw an Implosion spell to clear out a bunch of mobs around me and got the Spell Pen die roll in my combat log. I don't remember if I've ever cast that at golems before, so maybe they've always had that resistance, but I thought they were like undead and just had straight immunities to most of the SR check spells.
