Default Game Crashes. Apparently missing some texture/display files

Since yesterday June 11st after I updated my client, it started to crash. It was working completely normal before that and I had not done any changes or updates to my PC.

After crashing several times I finally realized the cause, whenever I pass in front of Harbor's Airship Showroom the game crashes a few seconds later, I noticed I can't clearly see the mini-airships in each side of the door in front of it, I can only see their shape, they're grey and blinking, enough to see what's behind them, I can't see their color, if I focus mouse-look on them my entire screen goes gray and it's an immediate DC.
It seems to me I'm missing some texture files, in this case I can still mouse-look to the ground to avoid seeing them but...

Some pets are also causing me to crash, I crashed 3 times today in waterworks before noticing this, it seems like whenever I crash in a quest I have to tell the party to dismiss their pets.

And I crash whenever that white dragon lands near Cydonie in the marketplace, not sure how I'll do once I hit Gianthold.

    ----

I tried using "Reset Display" option in the "Repair" tab of the launcher and it had no effect other than messing up my custom settings.
I tried setting the game to the lowest display setting available and I'm still crashing.

Is there any way to fix this without reinstalling the entire game?
I was thinking about deleting some files to have the game download them again, assuming they were corrupted in the update.

Do you use the Steam ap?
On steam I have used the "verify the integrity of the files" option before and that always seems to prompt a redownload , but not of the entire client. Just since the last time they got fresh code.
Still a pretty big d/l but better than the whole shebang.

Of you don't have Ddo on steam I can't think of anyway of getting a freshend copy with out a full d/l

Tried running anyotger game/graphically intensive program recently?

By going to akami supposedly you should be able to get the individual files fixed. I asked them that question point blank.

if you don't have that installed... well full reinstall. Good luck to you OP.

I wonder if I could install Steam and check that?

Nope, I was playing DDO until late night June 10th, the following day I got home, waited a couple hours of downtime and started playing, during that time I did absolutely nothing other than browsing the web.
My game performance, RAM, memory and FPS are also completely normal.

Oh, I'm afraid I uninstalled Akamai, Turbine said it would be required for updates so I thought the game would install it again, I just checked my Control Panel and Akamai is not there.

Is there way to install it again for DDO?

No clue, honestly. The only way I can think to get that section back is to re install.

Thank you for the replies =)

I found a folder named "Backup" in my DDO installation directory, when I copied the files the game prompted to update, I'll try it tomorrow without using the PC to see if that works and to prevent corrupting files this time.

If it doesn't work I delete my client_surface.dat and pray the game re-downloads it!

If all fails then it's full uninstall, download full client and updating a 5 years old client, yah.
