Buffing my Pet not working

My dogs are not getting the ship buffs when telling them to use the main button. If I take them to the individual amenities they can use and get the buffs. Am I missing something? Is this a bug? We should be able to have them grab buffs just as we did with old system.

Edit: Workaround, if you have them buff in the proving grounds using the amenities button there, they gain the guild buffs. Just does not work on the deck.
