Wolf pet's trip not working?

Last life I was a druid, and I noticed my wolf pet never tripped any mobs. At one point I had the wolf decked out with vertigo +8 item, uber strength, and of course the trip enhancement but throughout my entire druid life I have never seen it trip. I have seen it hamstring mobs, which was kinda weird since I didn't get that enhancement.

Has anyone else had issues with the wolf pet trip? I have noticed that the wolf trip enhancement doesn't give you an option to drag trip into the pet's hotbar like how you can with the artificer's iron defender. I was planning to TR into a druid again and it would be great to know.

Its bugged and doesn't work.

In general the active pet enhancements don't seem to do anything except periodically make your pet unresponsive. Better to stick only with passive enhancements IMO.
