Default druid and spell resistance mobs

from reading other posts(lots of them), it seems that fod and wob
are general thought of as a waste of spell points due the fact these
2 spells require a spell resistance check.

yet when reading some other posts some are saying most mobs
dont require a spell resistance check.

so my question is what mobs dont have spell resistance?

im not opposed to going to each content and checking myself but to
save myself some time id thought id ask here first incase someone had
done this before and where i can go read about it.

    thanks for any help

The most common creatures with Spell Resistance will be Drow, Duergar, Devils, anything with "Fiendish" in the name and some bosses. (Anticipate spell Resistance to be at least CR plus 10 for regular monsters. Red and purple named bosses tend to have a much higher CR, and generally have spell resistance within 0-5 points of their CR.)

    thankyou cru,

from this then i gather that say for ee gh tbf the first
mobs seen in then are cr 58, so providing my spell
fod can reach a 58 with d20 roll when i put my cursor on it then
fod should work? as these dont then have a sr check first.

got to admit ive done 3 past lives in cleric, wiz and
favs but when playing them i used to just hit the button
and if it worked cool, well now i dont want to that anymore
now i want to no if i have a chance before hitting the button.

its time i became a better player and to do that i need to learn when
to use certain spells and when not to and on what mobs.

MOST mobs don't have Spell Resistance. A better question would be which mobs DO have Spell Resistance.

Drow are usually the problem, as they tend to have Spell Resistance higher than any other (non-boss) mobs.

Most Devils and Demons (and Fiendish mobs) have Spell Resistance, too, though typically quite a bit lower than Drow.

There's a few other monsters here in there with Spell Resistance, too, like Mind Flayers or Deurgar. But pretty much everything else doesn't.

If you check any specific monster on the DDO Wiki, just see if, under "Special Qualities", it includes "Spell Resistance".

The most of trolls in TBF (other than the few Fiendish ones mixed in) have no Spell Resistance, so that should not be an issue.

Trying to make FOD effective on a druid in epics is a waste of resources, and basically impossible on EE's. As a caster druid you are much better off investing in evocation and spell power and crit chance for your primary elemental spells, and in epics cold should be your biggest emphasis on a druid. As I state in my build post... when it comes to druids and FOD, don't do it it's a trap!! I personally don't even use it during heroic levels on my druid since I can one-shot many heroic mobs with Call Lightning, which has a cooldown time of 2s vs. 8s with FOD

Word of Balance is a nice spell, but with only 2 spells in a caster druid's list that have spell pen checks (WOB and FOD), it's not worth investing in spell penetration. Stick with the cheapo SLA version of WOB and be happy if it hits. If not, it was only 6 sp!

There are a few other monster types that typically have resistance that I didn't see mentioned here, which could be relevant for Gianthold.

    - Jariliths
    - Rakshasa
    - Ogre Mages: I only recall seeing SR on named versions. I would assume they all have it, but I can't swear to it.
