The solution is easy, whenever they give VIP a perk it should be for sale in the store to the premiums. So this weekend you should be able to buy the VIP exp perk for 250TP. Then the game is working exactly as intended.

(you know that is not what they want though. They want to spend less by their math and brag in forums about what geniuses they are and tell everyone VIP is stupid, do it my smart way. THEN want to come trash on turbine anytime they try to make VIP NOT look stupid.)

I think this would be beautiful solution. lol

You should also be able buy the run fast around town (lol) for 995 turbine points, per server mind you.

A "bonus weekend" should apply to everyone.

VIP perks should be those that are permanent (such as the movement speed in town, opening elite, etc) and if Turbine wants to add more perks to get more people to sub that's great, just make it known to the players.
    Make 2 types of events.

One is bonus weekends, for everyone.

One is special temprorary vip perk.
It lasts one month and appears in every month.

    For example:
    january: vips gets extra XP
    february: vips gets extra coms
march: vips gets 5TP more for each favor award
april: vips gets jesters mask cosmetic for free on each of their characters
    may: something different

    etc etc

im not going to say its a bad idea or a good idea. all I can say is that when Turbine gave us notice about free epic hearts of wood for a limited time if you were VIP, there were a lot of people that said they would only be VIP long enough to get the free perk. knowing ahead of time what the perks are would be too inconsistent and just as unreliable as premiums.

And like I said above. Given the current state of things, Turbine's metrics have currently obviously shifted focus. Hence their push for more subs. The reason doesn't matter. As only they'll know why/what they need to meet to satisfy those above them.

And without getting into 'class-wars' nonsense, if that's where their priority lies at the moment, then that's who's top of the heap (in target focus). And they're backing it up in what they push. Why do you think they just had the buy a year, get 3 months free deal??

Why the self importance of how you rate in the food chain? As long as you get whatever it is you pay for, it shouldn't matter one iota. Regardless of store bought, or sub.

It is important to avoid what we had when the f2p model came out - segregation of the player base. I had a couple friends leaving the game over "VIPs only" lfm or similar atitudes. I'm sure if you have been f2p since the shift you remember that.

I have no problem with VIP perks. As I said I feel beeing premium has it's perks (though if I could go back in time I would have gone VIP instead of premium. The free TP and the extra perks would be worth it).

I do have a problem with a player created "class war" between premium and VIP and even F2P. I want more people to play and enjoy the game so it won't die in the next two years. Veteran x Newbie is already detrimental enough.

    VIP perks are:

500 free TP per month (can be bought)
Acess to everything but EPs (can be bought)

Elite/Hard open (can be unlocked getting to second/third life)

    More auction slots (can't)
1 free extra saga skip (can't)
Extra 10% move bonus that stacks with everything (can't)
Extra 10% xp that stacks with everything (can't)
Priority on customer services and events (can't)

Can't argue about the extra saga skip.
Phiarlan Pendant of Time is pretty good.
XP pots up to 50% are available in store.
Premiums get full customer service for a period after buying something (based on how much was spent)

VIPS gets more auction slots than premium (20 asah instead of 10 for premium for example)

moving speed and xp stacks with xp pots and the pendant (or are supposed to)

true for customer service but not for other things like early beta acess

I absolutely do. Though sadly it continues to permeate (albeit to a much lesser extent).
At any rate, the less of it the better!

As do I. I don't understand why one group thinks they have to be 'better' than another. We are ALL players, and we are ALL needed for the solvency of the game.

Did they change this at some point? I know it used to be a flat 30-days post-purchase...not based on $ figure

On a related note, I'd consider it a nicer perk if Turbine considered a "points system" for everyone outside of the VIP class. Which would be viewable in the game UI, or at the very least in the forum's player panel UI.

EG: Normal (historical) CS rules continue to apply, until a purchase is made.
-Once a purchase is made, then you have X number of "priority CS tickets" with no expiration.

They *could* base it off of dollar amount, but I'd prefer it to be just X number per purchase (for fairness since every player contributes to this game, regardless of pocket depth).

As, as it stands, for me, there's far less incentive for spontaneous purchases under the current system with regard to "upgraded CS" as a perk. Since I rarely need it..that "perk" has traditionally been wasted. Could be a nice incentive opportunity here Turbine! (UI changes optional, but welcomed of course.)

The table for CS is listed here. Although, it does look like the cheapest path is to somehow spend $1 every fortnight.

The point is that the gap in perks between Premium and VIP is not that large. Premiums have no real reason to grief about VIP's getting a little more. If a non-VIP really covets what VIP's have, there is a very simple fix... subscribe.

Pretty sure that had nothing to do with his VIP Status.

    First time quest bonus
1st time running quest that quest that day bonus
    Bravery Streak Bonus
    Voice or Mantel bonus
    Guild Ship buff bonus

    ...

    also it could be 10% for VIP + 5% VIP bonus days + 30% pot = 45%
