Just brainstorming a few ideas for a potential new iconic character type
Base class: Barbarian
Racial special abilities
+2 str, +2 con, -2 cha, -2 int
Battlerager - make this the racial inherent feat, and basically gives the monk's damage profile to unarmed attacks but is based purely off character level so if you were to do the LR & change alignment thing then have a multiclassed monk build, for unarmed damage it'd essentially count as a pure monk - many battleragers like to fight unarmed, so this is in keeping & should make their damage viable.. though as a barbarian they'd still be using the regular unarmed attack animations. Naturally, you can also ignore this & just fight armed too
Battlerager Vigor - Adds +3%/+6%/+10% maximum HP & extends range of unconciousness by +5/+10/+15.
Spiked harness - guard effect, 1d1/1d2/1d3 piercing damage per 2 character levels & also lets unarmed attacks bypass /piercing.
Battlerage - 2APs each tier, +1/2/3 str & con plus +4/+8/+12 to saves against fear, but suffer -1/2/3 AC & -1/2/3 INT & WIS penalty whenever under any rage effect - battleragers are crazy, fearless & somewhat lacking in judgement.
Gutbuster brew - make this tier 3 or so, and is essentially an improved version of the iron stomach ability... same effects as before except costs 2 AP per tier & also adds 2d4/4d4/6d4 healing every 2 seconds for a number of seconds equal to the constitution score. - 50% more powerful than the divine healing ability in the radiant servant line but higher tier & more APs to acquire, so i think its probably about right for a handy background level of regeneration but not enough to rely on in higher level content.
Battlerager fury - Top-tier in racial line, the battlerager receives +50% threat generation & DR/- equal to con modifier which stacks with any from barbarian levels. The battlerager & nearby allies also receive a stacking +10% fury bonus to attack speed but a 20% penalty to fortification. Usable 3/rest, 5min cooldown, 30sec duration.
Fearsome presence - enemies damaged by your melee attacks are shaken for 6 seconds, repeated damage extends the duration
Brute fighting - Activate this ability to cause your melee attacks to generate 10%/15%/20% more hate, making enemies more likely to attack you. (Cooldown: 2 seconds).
