I am considering returning to DDO from the bleak wilderness of other MMOs. I've been away for quite a while (since before Menace of The Underdark) after starting out on the EU servers and then restarting out on the US servers (when it looked like all hope was lost)
Unfortunately it was this that led to most issues I had with Turbine/DDO. When my characters got xferred over from the EU they ended up on Ghallanda and the server transfer wasn't working. I later had to xfer my LOTRO account and they wouldn't allow us to merge two accounts so I ended up with separate DDO and LOTRO accounts, and a bunch of characters on different servers in DDO, which wasn't ideal. I decided enough was enough after trying to deal with the account support and thought that was it for Turbine games.
However DDO was and still is one of my favourite MMO experiences. I've tried it a few times since 'leaving' and the problem is generally the paywall. There never seemed to be any LFMs that a f2p player can join so in order to try the game it means subbing or buying a ton of adventure packs/expansions.
Are there any guilds out there that run stuff for f2pers so that I can get a feeling for the game and decide whether I want to resub. I have several characters, mostly around L20 I believe. Not sure if anyone remembers me but my main was a WF Sorceror called Lugnut, and I was in guilds such as Fall, Children and Monsters and several others dating back to my days on Boldrei.
