    Default Next Crystal Cove Event?

So, when exactly is the next Crystal Cove Event coming up, anyway? Anyone have an estimate? An exact answer? I'm asking because I want to know whether I should hold off on reincarnating so I can finish up my Bottomless Flask of Rum.

And any other equipment that need to be upgraded to Tier 3.

Also I want to see Pirates.

    And Kobolds.

    And Kobold Pirates.

And Kobold Pirates who attack Kobolds.

And the snazzy pirate music to listen to while killing Kobolds that are Kobold Pirates that attack Kobolds and try to kill the Kobold who sells stuff to Kobolds in exchange for stuff that Kobolds bring and Kobolding their way through like a Kobold.

    KOBOLDS!
(Oh, and Bugbears, too, I guess)
Just a random, forgettable NPC doing things an NPC does
Things that NPCs do include, but are not limited to:

Having a gold goblet over my head to indicate availability of a quest
Having a catchphrase that never really catches on
Having various rewards that are generally not worth the trouble
    Wandering around randomly
Giving out obvious information if it wasn't obvious enough
Repeating the same lines over and over again
Repeating the same lines over and over again

No word just yet from Turbine.

I'm confident it'll show up before summer begins. Work on Epic Three Barrel Cove for (what I think is) the next update begins soon (if not already) and things like Crystal Cove would be a good send-up for that addition.

I'm looking forward to it as well. I've got idle ninjas, and idle ninjas are dangerous ones.

Good news! You can play Crystal Cove by participating in any of the in-game challenges! They all practically work the same way as Crystal Cove and give better gear!

Better news! Three Barrel Cove will be out later this year - Epic Pirates! YYYYYAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

    -cough- Not.

Sometime this year. IIRC it is the next update (U22). Can't remember from where other than official sources that I have heard it. But I would hunt the dev posts for the producer letters, etc.

Given when the patch hit for U21, I would say the end of May for U22.

Given the time of year, I'd be expecting easter eggs soon.

IMHO, they beat Cove to death a few years back and I'm still not overly eager to see it back after the repetition-overkill. Not only is the event stale and boring (for me, not projecting on anyone else's enjoyment), but I'm also one of those folks who experiences more then usual lag during the Cove event. It's happened enough over the years for me to know that yeah, it's the Cove - and not some other source.

Ultimately, it makes little difference to me when it comes back. I'll likely just keep on ignoring it beyond the muttered-to-myself curses when I get the lag. I know some folks really enjoy Cove. I'm not one of em. I'd much rather see a new Event - but I'm not sure if that will be in the cards for some time to come.

I'd be very surprised if it wasn't up during the week of September 19 (Talk Like a Pirate Day). As for next, I was wondering the same thing myself.

To a point I agree with you except that a couple of my characters need some stuff upgrading. The biggest issues (imho) with all the events is that gear is just so far out dated by a country mile it's not even funny, nothing goes beyond level 20 if they did then maybe more people would run them again?

They make for good twink gear. The trinkets are incredibly useful -- sometimes even best in slot through the early epic levels. A Superior False Life pirate hat is an even better twink item than it used to be, now that the effects of a Minos are easy to get in other slots. The Tier 3 L16 ornamented dagger is a great caster weapon. The tier 3 epic treasure hunter's spyglass slotted with Good Luck +2 is a one of the best "epic twink" swap items ever. I love the duelist's leathers on characters with evasion but no monk levels -- the 8 dodge + mobility feat + epic nimbleness + blue slot with PRR augment makes it an awesome defensive choice at L20.

Even when the Cove first came out, most people saw the items as "starter kits" for undergeared characters -- that's become more and more true over time, but it's still a useful thing. So the problem isn't that the gear is outdated, exactly . . . it's that most of us already have everything we need from previous events.

Yeah which makes getting stuff even harder with fewer and fewer people running it, I find it to be one of the more fun events there is I just wish more people would run it and that it was on longer to give people more time to grind like crazy to get stuff they want instead of it taking 3 years to finish everything.

Looking forward to seeing Cove return. Still have alts I want to grab T3 items for as well as upgrading the rum.

I've been wondering if we were going to see Crystal Cove and Mabar show up as the weekend bonuses. Would be nice to see them show up for short periods, but much more frequently.

I saw cove gear good for one update, then it was relegated to twink until you get your next best in slot.
