Thelanis is full of nice people ... The Xoriat hate is dissipating!!

I was creating a new character tonight, starting at level one as a no-twink, only use what you loot type character for some fun. I got into the harbor and got 4 different offers for help, 2 offers for a guild ship invite for buffs if I wanted them, offers for some starter loot and offers of gifts of plat to get started.

With all the nay-saying and such that often pervades the forums, it was a bit amazing for me to experience how nice some players are just to try to give low level characters a nice introduction and start on a server.

I've always been on Thelanis since Xoriat got consumed . I play in the Dead Blades guild on there. People can always find me on random characters I have: Prayst, Palosin, Chrysanthima, Chiao, Jonathan, Alicinia.

I've been back for a couple months now, but keeping a low profile -- I'm wanting to work through some stuff and create a tablet version of the character planner, but want to make sure I get the cannith app fully updated first.

That's great! Unfortunately finding a pug above level 8 is a challenge. For as nice as people are to noobs, they sure as hell don't want to group with one.

Thelanis hides in chat channels to avoid grouping with noobs/undesirables. God forbid you slow down someone's XP/min.

Knowledge is not being passed down. The good players isolate themselves. They run guild/chat channel only.

I don't have any numbers on noobs that actually stay, but they can't be good. I'm pugging all the time when my guild isn't on or they're out of level range of the character I'm playing. I pug probably 80% of the time. I VERY RARELY hear someone identify themselves as new.

I'm glad you had a good experience on 04/02 jjflanigan. Hopefully you stay below level 10 so your opinion of us doesn't change.

Aye, Thelanis is nice, but pugging sucks there.

Also has it's share of rude people and elitists. I'd mention names/guilds to avoid but apparently thats frowned upon...

I really am willing to be nice to new players. When I tr at really low level, I often leave a lfm up and just run quests. If I get requests from people they mostly leave the party right away. Some don't listen. Rarely I will get another true resing player that knows what I am up too. Of those I really enjoy playing with. I group best with returning players. Some of them I end up recruiting and/or making friends with.

I totally agree with new players thinking I'm some rude elitist when trying to teach them.
