Default is there a rogue that can get EEtraps

Our static completionist group has finally made it to 20 and have started on epics. The issue at hand our rogue has not been able to get on many times so we have been trying hirelings and so far it has not worked out very well. Lod we tried 2 or3 different lings and none could get the first trap.. Better to have our cc wizzie lesser +2 into a wizzie rogue ? or is there a ling that is better at traps then others?

No. Dre and I got tired of always having to have a trapper toon handy, and we thought hey, we'll use a hireling! And consistently all four hires available in the epic hirelings section could not find the traps even after we gh'd them. I sorta suspect the problem may be gear as well as build, but it's just a suspicion since I can't see inside them psychically. We had to go back to either his life rogue mixes or my artificer, rogue, or exploiter to get the traps on ee.

Besides GH you could also try to give them Fox's Cunning in case they don't have an Int item on (I haven't tested it myself), Inspire Competence if you have a bard, and Walk of the Sun if you have a monk. They'll still probably only be able to find easier EE traps.´

EDIT: Moment of Clarity is another stacking +5 but it looks like it's only available to tier 5 Henshin monks.

The druid pastlife and augment summoning (get it from an epic roderics wand) helps too.

for EE traps it for me it came down to gear over and above the assumed max skill investment while levelling.. even with basic Int investment
getting all the stacking bonuses aligned made all the difference.

    +10 int stat item
    +3 Insight Int item

    +20 competence from gear item
+5 enhanced (epic ventilated bracers.. it stacks)
+6 Exceptional (T3 Shroud.. it stacks)
    +2 luck item +litany or a +3 luck trinket

+5 thieves tools (only carry these)
Stack GH scrolls and UMD or clickie or friendly caster
Skill boost for +5 when needed.

    Yugo pots
    Ship buffs artifact bonus

    monk/bard when available

Use enhancements/destinies to adjust and bridge gap if not cleanly successful, no point over investing if you are already at no fail.

Epic Rogue hirelings are worthless in my opinion.

While I get that the buffs MIGHT help, I think it's a ridiculous amount of work to put into hires. I'm holding out hope that they fix them in the upcoming hire pass they were talking about, and I'd also like to see them give us heroic rogue hires in the plat stores (and boht rogue and fvs in the guild shop also) like the other hires.

That's odd assuming lvl. indications of quests have a meaning regarding character power and appropriate gear.

I ran Haunted Halls on normal today, with Iessin, Drow Rog hireling, lvl. 24. He spotted continously traps and secret doors. He found everything except one hidden door (or so I think he found all, I searched this quest thoroughly but who knows what's all hidden in there).

I buffed him with GH and Good Hope (clicky). So, while a lvl. 24 can almost find anything in a lvl. 29 quest, these hirelings should be able to do their job at a significant lower lvl. quest, even if it is epic elite with basic buffs.
