Stormreach is in crisis. Due to the extreme high demand for bacon, swine of all kind have been hunted almost to extermination. Farmers have profited but cannot breed them fast enough to satiate the run-away craze. Incidents of raid parties attacking farms have been recorded so soldiers from Deneith have been dispatched to protect farms that raise these tasty little fellers. In a desperate plea, the Coin Lords approached the wizards of the 12, seeking a solution.

After much debate and research the wizards have introduced a new magic weapon which promises to deliver much needed bacon to the adventurers of DDO. It’s called…you guessed it… GhostBacon! When pigs are slaughtered, their body releases their souls. If imbued with True Seeing, a person can see these souls as they pursue eternal life in hog heaven. When activated, the GhostBacon weapon can kill ghostpigs and bypasses incorporeal for eating purposes.

If a person wielding a Ghostbacon weapon attacks the soul, a dead pig can once again provide this delicious delicacy to the hungry defenders of Stormreach. The twelve estimates this could roughly double the bacon production in the city. In addition, there have been many problems reported over the years of ethereal pigs haunting old slaughterhouses. Clerics have attempted to rid the infestation in the past with no avail. The priests have submitted their blessing to this idea.

Ghostbacon weapons will begin dropping in loot chests beginning after the next patch.

In addition to ghostbacon, young and old adventurers alike can try delicacies such as: spectreham and wraithpork.
