Good idea. Also I wonder if making this feat available to all classes may be a good idea. Since only Arcanes can cast repair spells and they're currently dominated by Warforged it may be a step towards leveling the field a bit.

CE is kind of a noob trap as it is...you sacrifice too much positive healing for sub-par repair heals. End result is you can heal both ways, but neither heals you enough to keep you alive...WF can actually get higher values for both Pos and Repair than a fleshie with CE.

What would Epic CE do? Full healing in both? Short of that, I don't know what would be worthwhile as a L30 feat, presumably with CE as a prereq. Especially since, by then, Cocoon is such an important part of the healing rotation and Reconstruct doesn't scale up as nicely as Positive healing.

I like it personally. It is enough healing on my fleshy to keep me alive and I run all content on EE.

Warforged don't get full healing. They do fine. Where does this full healing for both come from?

You do realize reconstruct heals for more than heal right? Yeah, I know you can base you entire character around adding healing amplification, but reconstruct gains the full spell power boost not just the 50%. That really does make reconstruct powerful enough to really work wonders. 450-550 per cast is not hard to come by at all. Get more if you actually work at it. Heal scrolls, wands, potions just don't work as well for artificer. At the moment I play a warforged artificer because Construct Essence as it is is an underpowered feat.

So yes, I agree with you that Construct Essence is less than awesome.

Healing rotation? Is this WoW? For a warforged artificer, I don't see a reason to twist cocoon. (Do I use a feat on Empower healing as well?)

So what could make the level 30 feat "worth" taking? For me it would be obvious that getting all of the beginning warforged traits would make it worth taking. I didn't think I would be able to get all of them while retaining the ability to wear armor. But since it seems like some think it's worthless, I think I might try for them all. Here are the list of things I would like most just in case someone's wondering.

    1. Full 100% repair healing.
    2. Sealed Soul.
    3. Immunities to fatigue, exhastion, etc. Save bonuses.
    4. +25% racial fortification.

I'd be glad to take the negatives of 50% healing, rust monster vulnerability, etc. to be able to gain the benefits of warforged while being able to play another race, keep those racial bonuses and gain the benefits of armor.

WF, for just 6 AP, can get 80% Pos and 100% Repair healing. CE are stuck at 75%/50%, so they're worse on both lines, was my point.

And WF is different, since they get 100% base Repair and can actually boost their Repair Amp. Fleshies, yes - for that feat, I'd rather take Emp Heal (if possible) and spam Cocoon than Construct Essence, and stick some Heal Amp in where possible. Especially if you're a group player, since 99% of heals are going to be of the Positive variety...even solo, hireling heals are Pos too.

Honestly, I think the bigger problem is that CE itself is (as you noted) underpowered, not that there isn't an Improved CE. I think that the base CE feat should look pretty much like what you think the ICE feat should be - I'd say 80% Repair/100% Pos (the mirror of WF's 100/80, for 1 feat instead of 6 AP). Then ICE could make you "Self-Forged", with the fort bonus and WF immunities, and the other 20% Repair Amp, and "You are now considered a Living Construct". For the cost of two feats and 30 levels, I think that's equitable.

Maybe also toss in a L30 feat for WF along the lines of "Living Quicksilver" that would grant 100% base Positive healing, just so actual WF could end up with 100%/100% as well, and maybe "You may now equip yourself with Armor as well as Docents"
