    Default Back... kinda... casual

In 4 years I played for a month about 2 years ago and have been back for around a month again.

Noticing there are VERY few LFM's posted at any time and wondering why. Guessing everyone is running in channels or guilds, because I know I did a lot of that when I gamed regularly.

I've mostly run with a couple of old friends since being back and a tiny bit of pugging.

I logged onto a couple other servers and noticed at least one had about 3 times the amount of LFM's.

Anyways, just wanted to say howdy to anyone who remembers running with me and / or gives a ****.

    Heya and welcome back.

As to the LFMs... well, there are very few indeed. Population of active players isn't stellar at the moment

    Smile Hi Mini

The forums sure aren't what they used to be. The excitement of some years back is just gone. Anyway, I have seen you log in and out a few times as I was getting ready to log out. It's good to see you. The Mrs. and I continue to have a constant, but low profile presence on Thelanis. We mostly play with family and rl friends these days. I think I wrote somewhere recently that I have joined about 4 pug groups in as many years.

Our current group play has recently turned to use only what you find permadeath (to level 12). It's been fun, but we all tend to create a new character to raise with anyone that dies, so progress on the top end isn't as much as churn at the bottom. Unfortunately, I have run out of character spaces atm, and with many storage characters already filled with things that are no longer worth keeping, I need to clean out inventory before I add any new slots. So, I have taken to deleting my lowest character to restart with anyone that dies.

The Eriik line has gone from Eriik to all the characters you see in my signature plus some others. Give me a shout when you're on sometime. We are mostly playing little permadeath people, (not in signature) that potentially aren't around long, but you are welcome to join the fray. I hope you like korthos, though. I don't so much.

    Cheers,

    E.

Good to see you back Min. As to the LFMs, there are fewer then in the past, Mostly because folks are working through channels. Look me up when you are on, would love to catch up.

Hey AkromaAoW and Narizue or as I would say... Eriik and K.

Already chatted with Eriik and Emma in game and had a chance to run with PerryC, or as I would say... Pyxie for a bit on the weekend.

Mostly been sticking with people I know well like Spiderpig, Summy and Eddie/Izzy/Etc... until I feel like I can stand again. Playing for only a month 2 years ago and back for just over a month now has me feeling quite behind and lacking my sealegs. I'm finally feeling comfortable again and have one toon (Razsiel) 180K from level 28 and am flagged for all the raids, so I will start looking to join groups.

Look forward to chatting / running with ya all.

    Thanks.

Ledger is far and away my fave silver screen Joker. Such an amazing take on the character, instilled with a disturbing vibe through and through.

But on TV, it's gotta be Hamill's Mr. J... he just had the laugh nailed, in all it's myriad forms.
Ledger had a good laugh. Hamill's is great.

Hamill's take on Ledger's iconic line is pretty **** great, too.

    Aloha Mini!

Nice to see an old timer coming back .

I mostly play on cannith and pretty much limited times these days, but maybe we can line up an old school reunion some time. I got a few still on Thelanis that aren't too terrible, hehe.

    Default Hey again...

Heya Brae... long time buddy... too long. Would love to chat / see ya / run in game with you anytime. We had a lot of good runs and could always count on your skills and personality to ensure all was good.

Heya Nari / K... Well, I think he's back even less than I am. He's been on and off this past while, but like me, has crazy life commitments that preclude us both from spending a lot of time in game. Similar to me, running in our 4 person guild is just about right. Most of the time we are on, we run any 2 or 3 of us on a team and do whatever, whenever and it's very chillaxed. No expectations, run as much or as little and in whatever fashion we feel.

Based on the comments I've received out here, in private and in game, it appears a LOT of people are just sticking to their own cliques for so many reasons. Honestly, I think with guild ships, guilds and the way the game is, it's more beneficial to run with familiarity / friends.

I've added a couple channels and keep in contact with some of the cool kids who know what's going on and get the odd invite. I was a bit concerned when I logged on a few times and if no one in guild was on, I was relegated to running solo a lot or take a shot on an LFM if I knew the content.

Other than that, subbed up for another year, but since spring is here (kinda), I'm not sure how often I will be on, but would love to hear from all of you. The main toons I've been working are Razsiel, Barakiel and Akatriel. Seen anything in common from those names?

    Hey Min

I don't scan the forums very much and missed this thread. Glad to see you resub for a bit and hope to pound some of the same ground with you again. There's been a lot of change, some good, some not so good, and per the comments you see, it does make for a much better experience running with Friends.

That said, there are a lot of decent pugs out there there still and I think we should all make the effort to reach out and include others often in our runs. It helps them, helps us, but mostly helps keep things fresh.

Anyhow just my 2c there... glad to see you around again and hope to see you in some runs!

No worries, the forums don't seem to be the place they use to be and neither does the server, but I did see a number of LFM's on the weekend, but again, they seem to be the ones where people needed help or the teams were made up of a mix match of people from different guilds, mostly ones that I didn't recognize.

It's funny, I look at the LFM's and then I think, I can probably solo those quests faster than the group will get together, get to the quest, figure out tactics and get it done, so I don't join very often. The funny thing is, the odd time I've joined lately has been fun and I've met some cool people. For me it's been all about time. Over the last couple years I've had so little free time and now when I get on, I'm only allocating so much time to the game, so I'm leery about joining groups.

Anyways, thanks for the post and saying hi, and you are one of the people who sent me a tell within a day or so of me getting back online, and I appreciated it. Hope to see you as well.

I stopped playing full time 4 years ago after my RL came unravelled and in game, I was not having fun. I never wrote a good bye / quitting game thread because I knew that some day, I might return. I did allow a friend to use / give away as much of my ingredients as he wanted, but that was about it. I logged in 2 years ago for about a month, but wasn't really thrilled with the changes and felt so far behind that it just didn't fit into my schedule to try and get back in. Just over a month ago I logged on and started to chat with Spiderpig about all the changes and then I went online and read about everything and thought, ***, I will give it a bit of time. Honestly, many of the changes and a lot of the new content and stuff is good. I'm playing at a casual pace and mostly just sticking with a couple of friends. A month later, I'm feeling relatively comfortable with everything and enjoying the casual pace. Secret... take it slow, read a lot, ask some questions and don't stress and you will be fine. The biggest issue for me was going from a guild I created with dozens of players to a guild with only 4 players, 3 of us being very casual in game time. I can be on and have no one in guild and the LFM's are limited, so I do a lot of soloing and / or soloing with a hireling or two. I've added a couple channels now, but they really haven't yielded me much, especially since I'm hesitant to join a group that knows what they are doing and be perceived as the "weak link" or worse, causing a fail.

Anyways, thanks for the howdy and maybe see ya in game.

Can't say we were ever the best of friends, but it's always nice to see one of Thelanis most recognizable players back.

    Thanks? I guess? haha

If "one of the most recognizable players" means... "Oh ya, that F that doesn't like anyone, tolerates few and is friends with even less", then yup... that's me. A guy who won't back down from a fight or challenge, will always defends those he likes (again... few) and can always be counted on to complicate things for kicks, then again... that's me.

As much as I like the game and enjoy some of the people in game, I think I always had more fun on the forums, as it would give me a break in my work day and provide me with tonnes of laughter seeing people get so worked up.

Outside of this thread, I have no desire to post on the forums, but I do appreciate people saying howdy, so I will respond in hopes of possibly connecting in game. I've teamed many times with most of the people posting on this thread and hope to again soon. Still working on Memnir to switch back to Thelanis.

That's what I remember when our paths would cross, usually on Shroud pugs.
