noob returning want to play a cleric

hey all I havent been on this game in years, figured I would come check it out again. I would like to roll a cleric that can play solid on its own as well as serve a purpose in a group. could someone plz let me know what kind of race and what im looking at to play this style of cleric?

i dont know... i use to like the double wield kinda thing with the dwarfs but im just downloading now.. i would say melee unless u suggest otherwise

I'd suggest you follow that build, can't go wrong.
