However I think a realistic idea would be for a guild to make its own sort of dungeon filled with all sorts of hired AI henchmen and traps so that parties of other guilds can attempt to smash through it. The higher the level of the enemy guild, the greater XP rewards will be in store for either the winning players or their own guild's level. This idea would allow a sort of indirect PVP competitive arena.
Another point to add is that the dungeons available to man should simply be based on the existing dungeons in the game. For example your guild dungeon may simply be the Nash's Farm layout, but instead of hobgoblins it can be filled with monsters like say undead or trolls and may have exploding traps placed in unsuspecting areas and the boss could be replaced with something more menacing like a Giant or a Dragon.
I'm not saying anything is wrong with this game, but I've just seen compelling evidence to support the fact that a game with PVP or other competitive means keeps players busy almost indefinitely while a game with only quests allows someone to simply say "well I beat em all so there's nothing left to do". And having a sort of competitive arena takes stress off a company who is constantly being asked to make more and more new quests due to the fact people will start leaving because there's nothing else to do.
That's just me two cents though. I'm happy to hear whatever constructive criticism you can offer to my theory.
