    Default What to Dual Wield?

I just dusted off my bard (lvl 23), and old 16/2/2 Brd/Ftr/Rog.

I have two raiders boxes and a broad spectrum of specialty piercing weapons (smite, disrupt, banish) as well as many of the same for bastard swords (also have en an ee First Blood).

He was originally a khopesh user and has one minII. I have some khopesh but not as varied as the other weapon types listed above.

He is currently dual weapon spec'd with +4 tomes for all stats (first lifer, though)

I would gladly take recommendations on what to do with the boxes: Balizardes, Nightmares, Cleaver?

    Thanks in advance,
    DD

My Bard uses Bastard Swords and wields one EE First Blood and one Nightmare most of the time or 2 Nightmares...etc. you get the point...so i'd take Nightmare (if I didnt' have one)

Many Bards use Balizardes...it's a fine weapon and seems to lend itself to Bard pretty well.

    Both are very good options.

As for me...with the boxes I took: Pinion (hey I may not have manyshot but sometimes you have to range something...like pillars or prism of the ages) and a Nightmare.

With the new Forged items out there you'll probably want khopeshes at end game, as they are beefy. I've considered swapping out the Bastard Swords for khopeshes because they are that awesome...but I can't let go of the flavor aspect of the build.

Hope it helps and game on!

    Thanks, for the advice.

I saw your build and thread and that is part of what inspired my question.

Your build looks awesome, and may use it for a TR.

My bard is dualwielding Celestia, Brightest Star of Day. Really nice weapon. Pure light damage makes it bypass most damage reduction (on the other side light immune monsters like golems, mechanic constructs need other set of weapons). Its piercing short sword but it is big and long like bastard sword (don't like short weapons because you need to stay close to monster and it is annoing when they are pushing you out). Most cool and my favorite property of this sword is noiseless. No sound on hit makes feeling it comes thru the monsters like you were slashing the air. <3

Be careful...the proc from Celestia will ruin your Fascinates. I have one and I use it for boss battles only.

One advantage of going Balizarde over khopesh and Nightmare is that I free up a feat.
I have cleave, gr cleave and Ovw crit. No maximize atm.
Also, using a non-exotic weapon frees up at least 2 ap in kensai and allows me a little more wiggle room to experiment in the bard trees (currently tier 5 spellsinger, but may want to jack around with the t5 warchanter for shiggles)
