Default Always prompting to download the high-resolution data files.

After getting the installer.dmg file and running it, the game finished updating and I am able to play. However, it is prompting me EVERY time I run the game about the additional files (doesn't matter whether I say yes or no, nothing happens and I go to the game). How can I stop it from prompting?

Yep. I have seen this too. I thought I would wait until the Akamai fuss died down before bringing it up. Mac users are prompted to download the high res files every time they run the launcher. It doesn't matter how you answer the question. There is probably a Windows path being checked to see what is installed already.

same for me. I just downloaded a bunch of files, which I assume are the high res files. however, still asking me if I want to download them when I restart the launcher.

Glad to know that I am not the only one with that minor headache. I was starting to think that it was my computer.
