Upgrade - Royal Guard Mask / Key to the City: Eveningstar

Not fully though out but I figure I should put it out there.

Currently a rare item out of the End Chest of Bring me the head of Gohla-Fan! the Royal Guard Mask is an extremely use item for those that were lucky enough to get the item. The problem of course is that the item is more rare now than ever due to the fact that few people run the quests in the Restless isles.

Since there needs to be an incentive to run Restless Isles maybe it's time to consider offering upgraded items out there. For Example the Royal Guard Mask which currently allows the player to teleport to the standard locations:


it would be nice if you could upgrade this item to include Greater Teleport (Zawabi's Refuge, The Restless Isles (party arrives at The Foothold), The Twilight Forge (party arrives at The Foothold if the caster has never been to The Twilight Forge), Gianthold, The Necropolis (party arrives at The Lower Necropolis, near the exit to House Phiarlan), The Portable Hole, or Meridia).

The second upgrade would allow D-Door.

What should these upgrade cost. Well plenty as they are pretty powerful, but extremely useful. Maybe combining multiple raid items or something.


The second item that needs an update is the Key to the City: Eveningstar a patron favor reward for receiving 125 Purple Dragon Knight Favor.
It would be nice if this item was either updated to become the Key to Cormyr that had Wheloon Prison and the Thunder Peaks as options as well as Eveningstar. Maybe available at 400 Total Favor.

I just ran Ghola-Fan on Sunday for the first time in probably 3 years. Oh, man -- I had forgotten what a tremendous pain that quest is. For one thing, it's tough even to get to. And then once you're inside, it's super long, few shrines, tons of enemies. And then an immense ramp up in difficulty for the end fight, which has to be my least favorite element of any long quest.

Definitely one of the hardest quests out there to play Elite at level. And incredibly frustrating if you get Disintegrated at the end. (The dude positively spams Disintegrate, in a level 10 quest . . . it's nuts.)

So I wouldn't be opposed to upgrading the loot a bit, since without that, I think I'm probably going to stay away for good. Or maybe just improving the loot drop rates -- I don't think I've ever pulled anything from it. Although, I will say -- the Royal Guard Mask is one of the few truly unique items in the entire game, and probably the item least in need of any change.

That's really a great idea. The second tier of favor (before 375) would actually be the better upgrade time, so as to allow you to travel to Wheloon or Eveningstar.
