    Default Can't install client using Happy Cloud

    So I had both the live version and the Lamannia client installed. I wanted to clear up some hard disk space and get rid of the beta client. In uninstall programs it wasn't clear which was which so I picked the one with the latest install date hoping that was the beta. Somehow that turned out to be the live client . So now I have to reinstall again. I went to https://www.ddo.com/en/game/download click on the button for PC (apparently they all link to the same program) and receive the file DDOProgressive_4.28.exe. This now uses Happy Cloud, unlike last time I installed the client, but that was a year ago so no idea when that changed.

    However I get an error when I run that file saying I have only 7GB free space when the game needs 10GB minimum. But I have 3 partitions all with over 100GB free space so what's up with that? So now I'm stuck unable to install the client again because every site I tried brings me back to that same installer.

    How do I fix the installer, or where can I find another download site for the (highres) client?

    Hey
    Had the same type of issue when installing on a friends computer a few days ago, only way I could install was using steam.
    Don't have to have steam running to run game just have to dig through the steam folder and find ddo and the file to start the game.
    original pathway for me was C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common and in the common folder is the DDO folder.
    Also I read on these forums that if you install the game, go into the common folder and move the entire ddo folder elsewhere.
    You can then get rid of steam completely.{NOT TESTED BY ME}
    I just left steam on and do not allow it to start at boot.

    Good Luck

    Thank you.

    Just downloaded it through Steam and it's patching now.

    As far as I can tell the download/install for DDO is broken, and has been for at least a week or so. I guess this is not a good sign for the game...

    So I take it that turbine still has you download a old copy of the game and it updates after you install it, seems like a poor way to handle a new install to me.
