Default Order of Syncletica: Poison Mastery

A Ninja Spy can be argued as having the best damage-over-time attack in the game (better than Divine Punishment). Not even most named monsters are immune to it. Ninja Poison allows punishing damage while the ninja walks away.

nice. I see that you were using some CON stat damaging weapons early on--did not check fully on the central part since it is a long video--is that to decrease the mob's fortitude save against Freezing the Lifeblood? Maybe the low-level Tiefling's Blade for its poison and con damage along with its expanded threat range could help.

For the Envenomed Blades: Your main use is for the poison; the paralysis is nice too. It is unfortunate that only a few weapons can drain WIS for boosting paralyzing effects and all three cannot be used by a centered monk. A rogue assassin can do a poison attack that decreases Will (Soulshatter Poison: Melee Poison Attack: On damage: -1 Will save (stacks 5 times), on Crit: 1d6 Wis damage, on Vorpal: Shattermantle (-100 Spell Resistance for 10 seconds; Will save to negate, DC 10 + half Rogue level + INT modifier)) but that would require a rogue splash.

Also I hope you come up with a different name than the Socratic method...

The Vampiric Fury Shortswords do reduce CON saves, but I can generate a good Freezing without them much of the time with my higher WIS.

The Envenomed Blades are better for bosses since they also have armor piercing. I don't rely on its paralysis effect but they are excellent to accelerate poison damage since their untyped poison damage is magnified by the Ninja Poison debuff.

My last post compared Assassins to Ninja Spies. The "poison" attacks called Poison Strikes for Assassins aren't true poison damage, as found in my tests, but a debuffing effect. The class still gets Venomed Blades for true poison damage, and have some attack versatility advantages over ninjas with the right training.

What? You didn't like the pun on the Method? Okay, okay, I'm still working on it....

Totally forgot about the Vampiric Furies; just thought the Tiefling was nice since it has a better crit range and does poison damage. Does the armor piercing matter for any of the ninja tactics, beyond crits and sneak attack? Just curious. My main is leveling as a ninja pizener.

yes please change the name although the pun is appreciated.

Armor piercing seems advantageous. They treat something as having less Fortification. Combined with Touch of Despair, a 25% fortification debuff, cutting through most humanoid or fleshy enemies is quite easy. I don't know if the two stack but my understanding is that Rogue fortification debuffing skills like Opportunist do stack with armor piercing, so odds are that the finisher works too. Despite having "better" weapons, the Furies are my go-to weapons that eat through most everything. But the E-Blades are for bosses and paralyzing chances if a mob appears.

I'm looking for a Tiefling blade if I have the patience to farm the Sands enough for my 2nd life.

All the good poison names are taken. Names like "Kiss of the Spider Princess" seemed too ostentatious, and "I'll frakkin' CUT you" seemed too direct.

How about one with a snake name? The Viper, Some of them are poisonous too and they are far more ninja-like than a spider sitting in its web.

Not sure if this is correct: http://listverse.com/2011/03/30/top-...nomous-snakes/

Call your build The Taipan? From Wiki: The inland taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus), also commonly known as the small-scaled snake and fierce snake, is a species native to Australia and is regarded as the most venomous land snake in the world based on LD50 values in mice.[2] It is a species of taipan belonging to the Elapidae family. Although highly venomous, it is very shy and reclusive, and always prefers to escape from threat (the word "fierce" from its alternative name describes its venom, not its temperament).[3]

I like how you think. "Viper Style" might be a good one, although "Taipan" seems too similar to a nation's name. Thanks! The use of poison can be done by any ninja so it's so much a build but a specific fight pattern that deserved a name. I think I'll update the post later.

EDIT: "Viper Style" it is. I gave you credit for the name change. Sounds like something a dark-hooded Mr. Miyagi would teach a student, complete with poisoned chopsticks or something...
