I remember the first day in DDO "Can you move.. can you talk.. Speak to me.. You're not Undead are you?"

It was, in every way it could be.. DnD come to life around me, it was what I had always been looking for, a game of DnD made into an MMO.

I spent hours just looking around, looking at my stats, the weapons, the armor, the mobs, I talked to every NPC on that island. I remember geeking out a bit about the shaughain, as I remembered them from the old Monster Manual, and I was thinking "Wow, they look more impressive in game then they seemed to come off in the book" LOL.

I was hooked from the first day, and as irony would have, I and my very first toon, are still actively playing DDO today.

Default My 1st day of Ddo

I remember walking around Korthos and talking to every NPC around. Then I started questing, then I was hooked. I still look forward to playing Ddo everyday.

In my first day of DDO I played a rogue until I saw Celimas awesomeness. Been playing Clerics after that.

    Default My first day

Was an awesome experience even though it took me ages and the help of a knowledgeable and patient vet to "learn" the game. Keep up the good work and hopefully many more birthdays to come!!!!!

First day in DDO. Was one of my favorite birthdays ever. I knew the game was coming out but lost track of it do to a new born and being a full time dad. In the middle of March my wife asked what I wanted for my bday and I couldnt really think of anything. We were walking around Wal-mart and I seen DDO on the shelf! Bam! That's what I want for my bday with a sub. Played for a month on a dwarf TWF longsword using fighter. Still got the guy minus longswords tho. First time in game I couldn't believe how hard this game was. It was BRUTAL! I still look at those days in amazement at how much this game changed. I was hooked then and am still hooked now 8 years later.

Default Left Asheron's Call for DDO

I left Asheron's Call after the AC 2 debacle. That coupled with my regular player buds leaving was more than I could take.

I tried several different games before settling in to DDO. DDO had been out for a while and the game play was similar to AC so now it's been a few years and I'm still here.

Thanks for great game, keep up the good work and I'll keep playing DDO.

This is one of my favorite threads ever.

When I read someone else's experiences and I go, "Oh Yeah, me too!!" then I have a nice laugh.

Default Oh I was so excited

I'm with DDO from EU beta. I was so excited! Mmo based on D&D, action mmo, with d20 dice rolling every move! It was like moving all the good things from paper version to digital world. And it was first mmo ever with such challenging puzzles!
First day I was playing 20hrs and felt asleep over keyboard...

My first day in DDO was right after the game went Free to play in 2009. I had no idea how to play the game at the time and rolled up a cleric thinking "people will need heals and I'll be more likely to find a group that can help me learn the game".

I had a blast that first day taking in the sights and sounds of korthos with various pick up groups until I decided to finally brave Misery's Peak with a group. I almost had a heart attack when the group entered a doorway and came face to face with the sleeping white dragon, lol. To this day that run of Misery's Peak is one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.

My first day, over 6 years ago, I rolled a sword and board pally. I tried stacking strength items from korthos until I realized only one worked. What a newb. Lol

My 1st day on DDO was sometime during beta details are hazy but here it goes..

1st thing I did was make a human cleric to play with my brother ( I always start out with a healing class)
Then we went to that kobold quest I think it was solo not 100% on this, but we did complete it and then we met back up and did the Undead quest in Stormreach with the light tower..The end..

    My First Day:
Back in my day, before the game was even launched, I created a Dwarf Paladin. I grouped with a guy who thought it was awesome that I had a Dwarf Paladin and we went to complete Kobold Assault. I had a Magic Missile Wand and I managed to convince him that Dwarf Paladins could cast Magic Missile because I rolled well on my UMD several times in a row. Good times.

    Default My first day...

After watching one of my roommates playing this for hours on end, I finally downloaded it and gave it a shot. On that first day I struggled through korthos on my shiny new paladin..I really struggled with the floor puzzle in the storehouse (who made it all the way to level 7 before getting rerolled).

Amen to the above. I came from Thistledown server in AC and I beta'ed DDO and LOTR and picked DDO hands down.

First day in DDO: Some of the most intriguing gameplay experiences ever. Thank you!
