My first MMO, the game just went live, Smugglers Cove, appearing on a boat, head to the tavern to do Euphonia's Challenge, then a bit of sparring (or whatever) in the appropriate training room...then on to Stormreach! Ran a few errands for "Lord" Goodblade. I learned that player avatars could pass through each other, which felt weird at the time.

My first day sucked because voice is not enabled by default. I kept getting kicked out of pugs. In 2006.

My first day in DDO: "lets roll my favourite PnP (multiclass)character ! WooT ! This is too cool I'm OP!!! " ... didn't realize I unfortunately had to reroll him later.

After rolling a cleric, I learned that wearing heavy armor+shield+not knowing where you are going underwater can lead to death. It was either that or the turkey sandwich I had just eaten less than 30 minutes before.

My first day I found that DDO was all I thought a D&D MMO should be, and not much like PnP D&D I was used to.

    Default 1st day

I decided a paladin was a good choice for the first day. Average stats wielding a maul. Surprisingly durable...was fun smashing kobolds in sewers!
    Still love this game...

My first day on DDO..... well I did learn that sitting on campfire, singing songs as bard was just for me. I learned that keeping that barbarian alive really got me feel useful at game (He use to call me his pet as I buffed and healed him through half of game)

On my first day of DDO I created a Dwarven Cleric (which I still have), crawled solo through the Korthos Island in town quests with near death experiences at each turn, and knew that I would be VIP before the end of the week.

I remember my first day as the day I made an arcane ranger with the build that was provided by DDO while thinking it would be alright, I could never have been so wrong...

I learned the importance of positioning my fights the hard way.

Not necessarily my very first day, but my first very memorable day involved getting invited to a guild and starting to run in my first ever group/party.

They were out on Sorrowdusk Isle and I had never been there. I was able to figure out how to teleport to the island, but then I needed to somehow catch up with the rest of the party. They gave me some vague directions, but seemed quite busy fighting some things and doing stuff, so I was kind of on my own to figure out what was going on.

I ended up running from trolls, giant spiders, and some massive scorpions. This was before Dungeon Alert and short leashes, so I had quite a train of baddies following me all over the island as I plunged off of cliffs and crashed through vegetation. I can only imagine the sense of urgency in my voice as I kept asking the party for directions or some advice.

Eventually, they caught up with me back on the beach and I managed to survive with only a handful of hit points left.

    Welcome to DDO!

My first day was so doomed from the start it's a wonder I made it to my second.

I tried to reconstruct an old Baldur's Gate character in DDO. A light, lithe, lethal, spear-wielding chick. After spending some time confirming that, indeed, DDO lacks that most ancient and basic and common of all weapons, the pointy stick, I decided to go with a light, lithe, dual-wielding finesse fighter with rapier and dagger. I spent feats on awesome stuff like Two Weapon Blocking. When I couldn't make it through waterworks on normal I went back to the drawing board, for the first of many many rerolls.

At that point even the constant deaths were so delicious I kept playing.

    Default My First Day

I was collecting thieves tools on my pure tempest ranger to do traps. When I found a trap, I excitedly dragged the disable icon from my character sheet to my hotbar and clicked on it. And clicked on it. And clicked on it.

Selected the trap box, and clicked on the disable icon again. And again.

Long story short, some nice person on the advice channel told me I needed rogue levels to disable traps. And that's when I learned about the power of multi-classing.

My first day on ddo back in dec 2006 was one of mystery and adventure. I learned a very nice secret, I took care of someone's warehouse, I even explored the sewers for a missing pack. I found a few people who helped me understand how to play the game and helped me experience this game with a group of caring people. The community here is why I come back. I have played other games and always come back to ddo.

My first day, a skeleton shot an arrow at me, I moved to the right, and the arrow flew past me and buried itself in the chest of the wizard standing behind me.

    That day I was hooked.

Default Hydrophobia means anything to you?

I drowned, not knowing how to swim, trying to get a certain key for a group of incompetent rogue, cleric, and sorcerer.

I then died from leaping off roofs of Korthos Village.

My first day in DDO was 8 years ago in the Beta. I was in the EU beta, with some friends I had been playing online games with since I was 10. Been playing since...! Only one left now though. RIP DDO Stormreach and Codemasters. Boldrei/Keeper forever!
