Need to rebuild my cleric...

So I haven't played in a long time and I came online only to find the action point system has totally changed and now I'm lost. I used to have a pretty good mix of light spellpower and healing, but now it seems I'm really being pushed to specialize in one particular tree and I'm not sure what's best.

I generally solo with my cleric though I'll occasionally join a party for raids/party-based adventures. He's not all that high level, just 11th. He always used a long sword before with the 'follower of the sovereign host' enhancement but now that seems to be gone. Is there any way that I can still use the long sword I bought? Or is it basically just junk now and will have to be replaced with another weapon? I see that warpriest has a tree that enhances certain weapons based on the deity you follow but I don't see anywhere where it lets you choose what that deity is and I can't see anything that gives long sword proficiency.

Can someone give me some advice?

Choosing a deity happens at the feat level, rather than the enhancement level. It still grants proficiency with the appropriate weapon. Check you feats to see if you have the "Follower of the Sovereign Host" feat -- it will grant you proficiency with longswords.

When all these changes came through, they gave every existing character a +20 lesser heart of wood. This gives you the ability to lesser reincarnate, which will completely respec your feats, stats, skills, etc. (Even your class, if you so should choose.) Alternately, you could choose to keep the heart and use it later.

You're definitely not being pushed to specialize by the new enhancements -- they're actually a lot more flexible than the old system in many ways. A lot of builds will benefit by taking some low tier abilities in most or all of the available enhancement trees. It just depends on how you want to play.
