I would expect this company has several different internet connections, with redundant power connections and a generator backup. If they don't, then please let me know - I'm an IT manager ready to work and play all day long....and I can assure you that "snow" will never cause another outage again.

It is not the SNOW. It could well be the ICE that builds up and decides to knock out power systems and power generators. The US East Coast has a lot of above ground infrastructure and is more prone to loss of power.

i remember one outage they had... was like a comedy of errors...was during a hurricane... if i remember correctly power went out, and the backup generators couldn't kick on because the moat that was supposed to protect them from flooding had been overwhelmed by EXCEPTIONAL flooding... AND there was a fire.

but i remember reading about it and being like "wow. lol. O.o"

point being, **** happens, and even the best set up preparations are not always enough

Yeah, the perfect storm. Make my way to work in the ice and snow (unusual here in mid North Carolina). Boss rolls in 1/2 hour later and says go home. Wife says "let me move my stuff into the living room so that you can play your game." Can't connect. Oh well. Watching my son play Skyrim.
