    Default Eldritch Machine Gunner - Is it viable?

    So I was doing some testing last night and was surprised to find out that the Eldritch knight spell sword toggles apparently work with repeating crossbows - Is there a viable build that would do enough ranged damage for epic questing?

    ....here is what I was thinking

    Warforged - For self heals

    12 Wizard - for 3 element toggles
    6 Arti - for int-to-damage and xbow proficiency + xbow damage + traps
    2 Fighter - for weapons meditation....and 2 extra feats

    My concern is that with so much Wizard my BAB is going to suffer a bit. I was thinking of running it as a pure ranged DPS who uses his spells mostly for buffs and self healing.

    Thoughts? Ideas?

    if you're EK you don't need to worry about BAB, Tenser's has built in max BAB

    While you would have to lose 1d4 damage and 1 toggle, if you went 6 rogue you could take Mechanic for int-to-damage then use art for int-to-hit. You'd have to drop the fighter too though.

    u need high dex to get all the relevant ranged feats so getting int to-hit isn't that big of a bonus.

    OP this is a really interesting build...I'll see what I can do to help...for now it's 3am and I need to sleep lol

    Ok well here's what I came up with...I don't think fighter does much for this build ur much better off going 2 rogue mainly for evasion but also for a few mech enhancements.

    One note about feats is that 90% of builds don't need MT/IMT but if u plan to use the spellsword with any frequency than u need all the mana u can get because it's a HUGE drain on it.

    TY Failedlegend I thought so too, I think I see where you are going with your suggestions......

    1 question: Is Doubleshot worth it considering its rumored to be about 1/3rd as effective with repeaters?

    It seems if Doubleshot gives 10% chance that means with repeaters its what 3.33%?

    I don't think that it's a smaller chance I'm pretty sure it's just that it only checks once per 3 shot-barrage shooting 1 extra bolt. Not sure whether it's worth getting or not. That's more the excel-masters territory. I'm more of a trial by fire tester.
