Interesting read....my thought, maybe he is using spiders more as slaves. He assumes spiders are expendable and can overwork them (producing poison) until death and just replace the dead one with another. I'm guessing Volkoor would never allow him to treat his scorrow breatheren in that same manner.

Yeah I didn't think of that point of view, where the scorrow are actually considering spiders to be "lesser beings". It kind of also plays into a future conflict between the factions of drow in Eberron and Forgotten Realms!!
