Default New rig+New Install = New problems

Warning possibly slight rambling post ahead. Soz

Just sorted out a new gaming rig. Fresh install of Win7 Pro (Fully patched) and having major issues trying to install DDO.

Basic install is working fine just hitting problems when I go to patch the stupid thing.

The client patches ok so were getting through the firewall without issue, it's the patching of the DAT files where things go pear shaped.

Getting errors ranging from Decrypt errors to just sitting there on a random patch for 20 odd minutes while doing nothing. Close the client and reopen and same thing will happen.

Have downloaded the install files twice just in case of corruption but getting the same issues.

Have manually reinstalled dotnet and c++ redist (and patched) a couple of times.

Tried the knowledge base info of removing the following folders - Patches (not there anyway) bindat, raw and forward without any joy (apart from the joy of watching the bik movies download yet again)

AV has been switched off (reluctantly) without change.

Gave up completely and just grabbed a copy of the full install from my laptop only to find..... exactly the same bloody problems.

    UAC is off.

    Anyone with any suggestions?

    PS.

Dear Turbine - Why the hell is a fresh download needing patches anyway?!

The download is updated only so often vs. every time a patch or update is released. That is why. Further details on "why" would reveal their processes to the outside world which they may or may not want to do.

As for your specific issues... I could only offer very random speculations that wouldn't be very helpful. If you could post your DxDiags, that would answer many questions about your machine that could possibly help.

Decryption issues are worrysome, however. It implies corruption, but at what level would only be a guess.

Full error messages, and maybe even window event application error logs may help.

Could these problems be related to the east coast storm, and the login issues people are having?
