Really disgusted with Character Copy

As the title says, I'm disgusted that character copy is still not working properly. What is the problem?

apparently too big of a problem to get it working so everyone can use it for the first "all welcome" test server. I know there are a lot of people not participating just because of this problem, like me. one of the things in order for character copy to work, according to the character copy thread, is that your Live character must be updated on MyDDO and your characters character sheet must display properly. I personally think it has to do with when they switched to the new forums because character copy worked fine for me before that. since the new forums, not working.

Well there's your problem then. The API has been down since the power outage and they seem to have no immediate plans to get it fixed.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I suspect that Lammania automated character copy was tied to the API server that crashed.
And since there's no ETA for it's revival, there's no ETA for the character copy.

It's really bad though, since a fresh toon equipped with the named stuff found on the ground and in the AH is not the same thing as for example :
a 8 Year old Cleric that did GR once 3 Years ago just after the transfer from Europe, that has items that cannot be found anymore, items that were crafted.

It can't be recreated as it is on live for the simple reason of the Deity Choice at creation ( the above character does not have any deity ).
Using a new, fresh from the ship character, also will not allow to test all the cases... Since some of the behavior ( for EDs, Enhancements, Feats, ... ) will be tied to the character history.
So basically, since that kind of character cannot be copied, bugs that could have been found on Lammania will not be found before they hit live, and these bugs will break characters instead of breaking a copy that will be purged at some time.

I cringe at the idea of what might happen to my characters ( most of them are 3+ years old transferred from Europe ) with U21, since I couldn't test with a copy of one.

I did some testing this weekend. The new aura can kill NPCs, so the epic fateweaver and the monk trainers were dead.

So every level, I had to go in the dojo and get exp, zone out to the marketplace to use the level. I bought a few shards so I could use the dailydice roll to do two levels per run. I wish I had bought more, because later the store was down and I was back to one level per run. I had to do this through multiple test builds.

Then, I had to go quest to get the gear I wanted because the junk in the dojo was obsolete several expansions ago.

Not having character copy is costing turbine a lot of hours in testing.
