Exclamation Players in NW Ohio Can't Login

I know many fellow players in the Toledo, OH area who like myself and my S.O. cannot login to the game.

The Launcher is slow and plodding, sometimes not fully resolving into a launch. When we do get logged on to the launcher, we may see all worlds as down for a moment or two before that reverts, and if we get so far as a character select screen before freeze and/or crash, it will not manage to load anything of the actual game world and will crash with a 'Connection to Server Lost' message.

This began at around 1pm today and has yet to alleviate. After checking with my fellow players and scouring the internet, I have come to the conclusion that it may be a region limited issue. I am looking for assistance or suggestions and to create awareness with Turbine that there is a problem keeping a city of players from being able to partake in their product.

My SO and I are VIP. The other players I know in the area are all premium.

If it's one specific locale, could it be your service provider - and not something the DDO folks can help with?

I know they have had DNS resolution issues with other regions before so I am kind of fishing for some advice as to how that may have been resolved in the past.

Doesn't matter what server we attempt. Canith, Sarlona, Argo... I just tried changing my DNS server and that didn't halp. I wonder if Buckeye Cable, our ISP is embargoing or just flubbing up the traffic. Thing is, I'm not sure I'd have any information to adequately explain the problem to the tech who will write the ticket that will get ignored by the house that jack built, er, by the higher tier techs.

Not to change the story but what is your main server. I've been looking for area players for a while. Used to play out of the old mind games and great eastern comics

Main on Cannith and alts everywhere. The group I play with on Cannith are a static group of local players who know each other. You'd have to pass muster with the informal leader of the group if you wanted to join our guild. Otherwise we would be open to allies to run raids with. Message Giraldi on Cannith. Tell him you saw Elsheran on the forums and being local to Toledo came up.

Issue still persisting 9 hours in.

Maybe post traceroute results and provider info to try and identify common points of problem. You can omit the first two lines in traceroute for privacy.

Ok, here is the results. I assume the IP you used was for the log-in servers? Not entirely sure what to do with this information.

I am not seeing any big hangup, but line 9 has higher numbers than average. Maybe run it a few more times to watch for problems. IIrc, Cogent routes have been troublesome for some DDO connections in the past.

The thought was that if several people had a common bottleneck, a traceroute would help show it.

As of 6:45 am local time, approx 20 hours after I noticed the onset of the issue, it appears to be resolved. Thank you for your assistance, folks.

    Glad your back on DDO.

In the future, these issues are resolved by talking to your ISP.

Get yourself a visual traceroute app so you have solid information to take to your ISP.

LOL...although in NW OH it's pretty evenly split between buckeye and wolverine fans...gets fun at the end of November with all of the jibes being tossed at one another
