It still launch two processes that eats up 15Mb and some CPU cycle. It still keeps being reinstalled as you say.
The two processes can still be killed when the client download the update, so there is no reason for them to be there.
Can't you just get totally rid of it ? What is the reason that made yet another third party software mandatory ?
Edit : after reading what is written in the about : you don't need such kind of technology, nowadays the bottleneck is the DSL/Cable line of the end customer, and no technology in the world is going to change that, since most of the time they are throttled by the operators.

How about this; if this goes live, I will be in touch with my state attorney general's office, informing them that you are installing a known virus with the DDO client. I will also be notifying every media outlet I can think of.
If it installs without my knowledge or permission, it is a virus. Period. If you continue to reinstall it without my permission, I hold you as a criminal.

Lol, overreact much?
Good Luck, Eliot Ness. I bet the FTC really gonna drop the hammer on Turbine for this mortal offense they've caused you.
If you don't like how they've chosen to distribute their software, don't download it. Acting like you're some sort of cyber crusader against bloatware is a bit misguided. They're just trying to increase DL speeds. And they said it's getting taken out.

If i haven't responded to your post, it doesn't necessarily mean that i don't have counter-arguments, it might simply mean that i don't want to keep feeding the trolls.

Hey! Hey!
Right, because developers never ever make mistakes.
The fact is, awesomium takes up significant CPU time at regular intervals. Whether this is WAI, not WAI or some sort of configuration error is irrelevant - it IS happening, whether you want to take your head out of the sand or not. The only reason it was discovered was because players on lower end machines experienced unexplained spikes, which, when awesomium was removed, disappeared. I also proved by showing process graphs that a single awesomium process was causing CPU spikes at regular intervals. Awesomium also causes the game to load slower by about 20-30% (which I tested on multiple machines).

So another build and this is still here.
Can we get a good reason why this program needs to startup at boot time and continue running the entire time?
If you are going to keep it at the least it should only start when the DDO launcher does and it should stop as soon as it is done doing whatever it is it does.

No one in the world ever gets what they want
And that is beautiful
Everybody dies frustrated and sad
And that is beautiful
Just an FYI to the forum: These technologies are to allow faster download, configuration, and installation of the game you want.
Why people are seeing it everywhere? Because they are making agreements and keeping peer to peer safe so we can get more done witht he limited infrastructure that exists without having to lay new cable and hardware.
Why soo many processes in my task manager? Mainly to bypass the one setup running at a time limit for most application installers.
Why for you sound like Akamai *****? Mainly because it makes sense from a company perspective to buy a plugin applet that gets the job done better, for less, than developing or improving your own.
