I was one of 2 Divines in an EH run over the weekend, and it quickly became apparent that I was solo healing. We made it all the way to the 2nd last fight when people were dropping too quickly, and not enough damage was being done to Lolth and the spawns.

I reconcile this failed run with the fact that had we actually completed it I still wouldnt have got any Comms or Named loot.

Ive never played a worse raid in any MMO. I cant even think of a worse dungeon. And the drop rates for loot and Comms... wow.

It was pretty much my final thing before TRing so I wasnt too fussed. Its pretty sad that dungeons and raids giving better loot on EN is *still* a thing in the game...

Thanks for putting into words what I was thinking! So much this! I always wondered why there weren't more options at the crack in the harbour:

    1. go to estar cavern.
    2. go to estar.
    3. go to wheloon(now that's been added.
    4. so on & so forth.

Same for from the entrance to the beyond the rift quest.
Same for the portal that goes to the demonweb & back to eberron(it should have an option if your not in a guild to teleport you right to the harbour).

Also right from the estar cavern that portal should give you options as well to go other places.

Same for what he said about getting to the quests, in the underdark it isn't as bad for the 3 of them(Rusted Blades/Death Undone/The Portal opens), Broken Chains is far away though.

Same for the Sands(not that many people even run them anymore). Same for Epic GH.

Only thing I can think of it has something to do with WOTC & lore reasons. Also I stress again these should all be PLAT options NOT Astral Shard options.

Maybe Dunkle & me are in the minority though, who knows... Sigh.
    /signed too.

DDO was at first sold as a game where quests were at our fingertip, behind doors, no time spent running through endless areas, no time wasted reaching quests... Quests were just there, behind the door.
( and there's still many doors in Stormreach that are lacking a quest behind it )

    To expand further :
why do you think VON3 is so successful?
it's not just the high XPs it had on Epic, it's also the fact that from the time you left the ship to the time you entered the quest less than 30 seconds happened ( and in these 30 seconds you went through the quest giver chat ).
Why are the Wheloon, Stormhorn, King Forest, Underdark, Demonweb quests seldom run ( beyond the mandatory flagging runs ) ?
Because they are a PITA to reach, even with a key. For example a Stormhorn quest : From the Guild Ship, use Key ( 1 loading Screen ), run to quest Giver, take quest, Enter Stormhorn ( 1 Loading Screen ), teleport to camp ( not using the P2W 'porter ), run to quest. That in itself will take 3 to 5 minutes. It's more visible on Eveningstar stuff than before, but the problem existed for a long time... Since Restless Isle came out... Titan is seldom ran because it's a PITA to reach the quests and to reach the raid. Reaver's Reach also has this problem ( compounded by the poor XP ).
On G-Land : Flavilandile, Blacklock, Yaelle, Millishande, Larilandile, Gildalinde, Tenalafel, and many other...

I dont have shadowfail so I wont discuss that, but getting to kf, underdark and demoweb quest is fast, only getting first time to sschin portal takes a bit time, but after that takes you a min to the quest, demoweb is also easy when you figure out how it works, if south path is up you will be at quest in 10 sec, if its not up just jump down till you are at reclaiming rift or on the path to trial by fury.
The quests are fast also, from 2 to 20 min on ee.

Ok, I think I need to figure out what that fear is called that is opposite Claustrophobia, because apparently I have it. I hate going through the outside wilderness zones, but am ok with the underdark (not great, but OK), love waterworks though. When I went into Thunderholme, I instantly fell in love. If you add CoV's to chests and kills, I will probably almost never leave this zone unless I have something specific I want to do (or get called away to do). It reminds me of old games like Eye of the Beholder, true basic D&D dungeon crawls. Yeah, it was tough at times, but I made it to that chick right before the shadow dragon raid (at which point she summarily taught me a new meaning of pain and anguish, which is awesome actually lol).

My build was not really complex, 12 Barbarian/5 Cleric/3 Rogue TWF... and just happily ran through slaughtering most stuff, then a named shows up, like Dagan (spelling?) and have to actually think strategically for the fight, tough it out and make it through, then back to haplessly slaughtering again... oh, then puzzle, solve, move on, etc... The place is like a quest, not a wilderness... I think I spent a few hours just running around in there, and never got bored.

Only three things I would see as making it better:
1- Add the CoV's like other posters have said
2- Add instant port for people on way to raids to just get there (but make it so you have to have actually gotten there before, like in Storm Horns porting)
3- Change it from a Slayer accomplishment, to XP per kill (just a personal wish, I'd grind XP in there for hours and hours lol) Keep explorer and whatever else stuffs, but change slayer to XP per Kill...

Yes, the place is HUGE, but I love that!! Gives me high hopes that one day we will have Greyhawk in the game, and can go visit the Castle!!!

Please note that things are still in an early state. Loot is not yet ready for preview. Deco is still incomplete: some areas have had attention, but others are still bare. Monsters have not been balanced.

The Thunderholme Adventure Area Survey is now closed. Thank you for your feedback!
I really like Thunderholme and was even amazed about the different zones inside from mushroom, the dungeon crawl till fire pit.

However regarding the later and the rare amount of Shrines I encountered. Would it be possible to add a shrine near the crafting altar, which spawn after one beat Extinguish Ember? I made it through but afterwards the blue bar was nearly down to zero and nowhere close any shrine to gather back some HP and SP, so I had to recall out and wasn't even close to half way down I suppose?

PS: Don't get me actually wrong, I actually like that this area isn't cluttered with shrines, like some other quests where you have a shrine every 5 meters. However a strategic point like the forge should have in my opinion one. At least one that is unlocked after the fight with the red named.

    * We have collectable bags, mind you, even hireling folders, but can I have that 6-pack for my potions please?
    * Having already a past life on the dieng EU servers, I rerolled here and started from scratch as I like the game and the community, so lets see what awaits me here
